SUN RAYS FOUNDATION TEAM UNDERTAKES VOLUNTARY CLEAN-UP OF YAMBIO COUNTY RRC PREMISES
YAMBIO, June 19, 2026 β In a demonstration of community service and civic responsibility, the Yambio team of Sun Rays Foundation (SRF) conducted a voluntary clean-up exercise at the Yambio County Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) office, transforming a compound that had been overgrown with bushes for several years.
The initiative reflects the Foundation's commitment to promoting environmental stewardship, volunteerism, and active community engagement while supporting institutions that play a vital role in humanitarian and development efforts.
Sun Rays Foundation (SRF) is a humanitarian non-profit organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable communities through sustainable, community-based solutions. The Foundation works to improve the lives of children, women, youth, and persons with disabilities by advancing social and economic empowerment, resilience, and inclusive development across South Sudan and East Africa.
The Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) serves as a key coordinating body for humanitarian and development organizations, facilitating relief interventions, supporting vulnerable populations, and strengthening collaboration between government institutions and partners. Its work is critical to ensuring effective humanitarian response and community recovery efforts.
Speaking following the clean-up exercise, Yambio County RRC Coordinator Mr. Francisco Francis commended Sun Rays Foundation for the initiative, describing it as a historic gesture of volunteerism and partnership.
"This is the first time an organization has voluntarily offered to clean the RRC office premises. We highly appreciate Sun Rays Foundation for this remarkable act of service and commitment to supporting public institutions," he said.
