Sad News:😭 The passing of Sultan James Lual Achuil Agak, Paramount Chief of Wunkuelthii Boma, Gogrial West County, Warrap State_Kuajok

Dear Family, Relatives, Friends, and Colleagues,

With a heavy heart and deep sorrow, the family of Lual Achuil Agak, alias Lual Manyangdit, announces the passing of our beloved father, Paramount Chief James Lual Achuil Agak.

Chief James passed away peacefully at 8:03 AM on 16th May 2026 at Wau Teaching Hospital. He had been referred for further treatment in Juba after his condition worsened.

For some time, Chief James had been managing a knee condition that affected his mobility. Recently, he developed an illness that led to his admission to hospital, where he was diagnosed with kidney failure. It is this illness that led to his passing this morning.

Chief James was a respected leader, a unifier, and a true liberator who dedicated his life to serving his people, Community, and South Sudan at large. His wisdom, humility, and commitment to peace will be remembered by all who knew him.

We are deeply grateful for the love, prayers, and support you have shown him and our family during his illness. Funeral arrangements and details for the celebration of his life will be shared in the coming days.

In this time of mourning, we kindly ask for your continued prayers and patience as we honor his memory.

May his soul rest in eternal peace 🕊️

WFP Conducts Emergency Food Airdrop in Akobo County

A humanitarian relief operation was carried out this morning in Akobo County as a World Food Programme (WFP) aircraft delivered thousands of food supplies to communities facing severe hunger.

The emergency response follows weeks of instability and clashes between government forces and SPLM-IO, which displaced many families and left communities without enough food and basic needs.

Local sources say the food assistance will provide temporary support to vulnerable people, especially women, children, and the elderly.

Authorities and humanitarian organizations continue to call for peace and safe access to affected communities in Akobo County.
