BREAKING: South Sudanese Have Endured Hardship, But Eating Snakes and Frogs Has Never Been an Option - Amb. Garang Deng Aguer tells Kuol Manyang
Ambassador Garang Deng Aguer, founder of the Reconciliation Ministry Church, has weighed in on recent remarks by Senior Presidential Advisor Gen. Kuol Manyang Juuk concerning claims that South Sudanese eat frogs and dogs.
In a statement issued Thursday, Amb. Deng said Gen. Kuol used to be an honest SPLM/A liberator who has consistently opposed corruption since the days of the liberation struggle.
He further alleged that Gen. Kuol had, on several occasions, tendered his resignation but was repeatedly persuaded behind closed doors to remain in government.
However, Amb. Garang stressed the need to critically examine the General’s recent remarks, emphasizing that South Sudanese have always been hardworking people, both at home and in the diaspora.
He accused the government of failing to revive key national development projects capable of creating jobs, including the Aweil Rice Scheme and the Mangalla Sugar Scheme, among others.
Amb. Garang also pointed to the recent killings in Khor-Kaltan, where dozens lost their lives, as further evidence of the resilience and industrious nature of the South Sudanese people.
