CDF Declares Tough Reforms in SSPDF...

The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) of the South Sudan People’s Defence Forces (SSPDF), Gen. Dr Paul Nang Majok, has announced a series of “tough reforms” aimed at restoring discipline, transparency, and accountability within the national army. Speaking at the SSPDF General Headquarters in Bilpam, Gen. Majok said the reforms mark the beginning of a new era of professionalism in the force, warning that those who fail to comply will face dismissal or prosecution.

As part of the reforms, the CDF directed all unit commanders across the country to surrender “ghost names” from their payrolls immediately, a move aimed at curbing corruption and ensuring that salaries reach legitimate soldiers. He emphasized that the practice of inflating troop numbers has not only drained government resources but also undermined the integrity of the army. “We must clean our system; every soldier must be real, visible, and serving the nation,” he stated firmly.

Gen. Majok also issued a strong directive banning the sale of military food rations, a practice that has been widely reported in various barracks. He described the act as “unpatriotic and inhumane,” noting that food rations are meant for soldiers in the field, not for profit. The CDF assured that a special inspection team will be dispatched to enforce the orders and monitor compliance, reaffirming his commitment to building a disciplined and loyal national army that upholds the values of service, honesty, and national pride.

Sudan Government Orders Immediate Shutdown of Oil Pipeline Amid RSF Threat

Khartoum, October 30, 2025 — The Government of Sudan has officially notified the Republic of South Sudan that the oil pipeline running through both countries will be shut down with immediate effect. The decision follows escalating security threats from the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), which are reportedly advancing toward Kordufan, a key region along the oil transit route.

According to government sources in Khartoum, the shutdown is a precautionary measure aimed at preventing potential damage to vital oil infrastructure as fighting intensifies. The pipeline, which serves as the main export route for South Sudan’s crude oil through Port Sudan, is critical to both nations’ economies.

As of now, Juba has not issued any official response to the notification. Analysts warn that a prolonged shutdown could have severe economic implications for South Sudan, whose budget heavily depends on oil revenues, and could further strain relations between the two neighboring countries.
