📢 BHAR EL GHAZAL TOURNAMENT PRESIDENT MAJOK AYAR CHIENY REVEALS REAL REASON BEHIND RESIGNATION.
The President of Bhar el Ghazal Counties' Tournament, Majok Ayar Chieny, has broken his silence on the real reasons behind his sudden resignation yesterday night, dismissing earlier speculation linking it to Rumbek North and Aweil South.
In a statement on social media, Majok clarified that his resignation was not because of Rumbek North and Aweil South as reported, but due to incidents involving Cueibet and Aweil South counties.
“The issue is not because of Rumbek North and Aweil South, Its because of Cueibet and Aweil South.” he stated.
According to him, Aweil South management had lodged complaints against Rumbek North and Cueibet, while Cueibet was complaining against Wulu, and not because of the three Lakes State counties that reached the semi-finals.
Majok alleged serious security threats and physical confrontation at his office:
“Aweil South managements with their fans and some of their players came to our office in South Sudan Hotel and threatened me and my staffs in the office in my presence. Also Cueibet managements came to meet me concerning their complaint and fought one of my staffs too.”
He said those incidents were the reasons behind his resignation that night.
Majok further accused one Anyar of bias, alleging that he insisted on supporting his home county Aweil South in the contentious game between Rumbek North and Aweil South, calling for a 90-minute rematch.
His clarification comes after mixed reactions from fans following his resignation as President of the tournament and retirement from community sports activities.
