📢 GOVERNOR MADHANG MAJOK MEEN ARRIVES IN YIROL EAST COUNTY – NYANG HQ & MALEK PAYAM

Yirol East, Lakes State – 16th August 2026

The Governor of Lakes State, H.E. Maj. Gen. Madhang Majok Meen, has arrived in Yirol East County Headquarters – Nyang and Malek Payam following engagements in other parts of Greater Yirol.

Upon arrival, the Governor was received by the Commissioner of Yirol East County, Hon. Manyang Luk Lueth, together with members of the county administration, chiefs, religious leaders, youth representatives, women’s groups, SPLM leaders in the county, and members of the community.

In his remarks, Governor Madhang expressed his gratitude to the community for the warm welcome accorded to him and his delegation.

The Governor further stated that he will continue to engage local communities and assess their situation in various areas of Greater Yirol before proceeding to the State Headquarters.

📢 Gok Community gathered yesterday at Biling-guet Boma, Mayath Payam, Cueibet County, for funeral prayers of Late Sultan Abraham Mador Cinwac Mathen Agok.

The late Sultan was born on 1st January 1952 and passed away on 12th August 2026 at the age of 74.

Community leaders, relatives, and well-wishers attended the prayers to honor his life, leadership, and service to the community.

Speakers described him as a wise elder and a pillar of unity for the Gok people.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.🙏

📢 GOVERNOR MADHANG MAJOK MEEN ARRIVES IN YIROL WEST COUNTY, LAKES STATE

AUGUST, 15th, 2026 Yirol West County, The Governor of Lakes State, H.E. Maj. Gen. Madhang Majok Meen, has arrived in Yirol West County following an official visit to Juba.

On arrival, the Governor was received by the Acting Commissioner of Yirol West County, Hon. Andrew Mayor Akuot, together with members of the county administration, chiefs, religious leaders, youth representatives, women’s groups, SPLM leaders in the county, and members of the community.

In his remarks, Governor Madhang expressed his gratitude to the community for the warm welcome accorded to him and his delegation.

The Governor further stated that he will continue to engage with local communities and assess their situation in various localities of Greater Yirol in the quest for sustainable peace ahead of general elections in December, 2026.

📢 LAKES STATE GOVERNOR MADHANG MAJOK MEEN RETURNS TO THE STATE.

Awerial, 15 August 2026 — Governor of Lakes State, H.E. Maj. Gen. Madhang Majok Meen, arrived in Awerial County today following an official visit to Juba.

He was received by County Commissioner Hon. Philip Mawut together with members of the county administration and community leaders.

Addressing citizens, Governor Majok thanked them for the warm reception and called for peace, security, and increased agricultural production to strengthen food security and livelihoods in the state.

He also officiated the opening of a wrestling match between Mathiang Payam of Jonglei State and Bunagok Payam of Lakes State. The Governor affirmed that wrestling will be registered as a national sport due to its role in promoting unity and regional harmony.

In his closing remarks, Governor Majok urged SPLM members in Awerial County to rally behind President Salva Kiir Mayardit as the party’s flag bearer in the December 2026 general elections.
