Members of the Presidential Council Take the Oath of Office in Nyala

Nyala, South Darfur Members of Sudan’s Presidential Council were sworn in on Saturday before Lieutenant General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, President of the Council, and Chief Justice Ramadan Ibrahim Shamaila.

The 15-member body, which includes several regional governors, reflects the Sudan Constituent Alliance’s commitment to a decentralized system of governance. Their mandate is derived from the Transitional Constitution of the Republic of Sudan (2025), which defines the distribution of powers across eight regions, aiming to promote equitable sharing of resources, strengthen governance, and enhance political stability.

Sworn-in members include:

1. Elhadi Idris Yahya – Governor of Darfur Region

2. Altahir Abubakr Hagar

3. Mohamed Yousif Ahmed

4. Hamid Hamdeen Al-Nuwairi

5. Abdalla Ibrahim Abbas

6. Kholdi Fathi Salim Jumaa

7. Jagood Mukwar Marada – Governor of South Kordofan/Nuba Mountains Region

8. Joseph Tuka Ali – Governor of the Fung Region

9. Saleh Issa Abdullah – Governor of the Central Region
