BREAKING: National Alliance Withdraws Confidence in Kornelio Kon Ngu Shortly After His Declaration to Contest for Presidency

The Leadership Council of the National Alliance of Political Parties has withdrawn its confidence in Rt. Hon. Kornelio Kon Ngu, citing alleged gross misconduct.

The council has subsequently rejected his nomination for the presidency. Kornelio Kon Ngu had earlier declared his intention to contest for the presidency in the upcoming December elections.

The Independent Electoral Committee (IEC) of the Apuk Youth Union in Juba, led by its Chairperson, Molana Mangong Madut Yak, paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Anthony Majak Achuoth Malek, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.

During the visit, the IEC briefed Hon. Majak on the electoral roadmap and preparations for the upcoming Apuk Youth Union in Juba elections for the 2026–2028 term.

The engagement provided an opportunity for the IEC to update the Undersecretary on the ongoing electoral process and reaffirm its commitment to conducting a peaceful, transparent, democratic, and orderly election.

University of Juba Announces Registration Dates for First-Year Students both Public,Direct Intake

The University of Juba has announced important registration and class commencement dates for first-year students for the 2026 academic year.
According to an official document issued by the University administration on August 31, 2026:

General Admission Students: Registration begins August 31, 2026, and will run for two weeks, after which first-semester classes will begin immediately, Meanwhile, Direct Intake Students: Registration for the second semester will begin on September 28th , for one week, followed immediately by second-semester classes.
The University has urged all concerned students to take note of the dates and complete their registration accordingly with the requirements needed.
