Police Arrests 30 Suspects linked to Overnight Thefts in Kuajok

The police in Kuajok have allegedly arrested 30 suspected youth linked to night thefts in the town. According to town Mayor of Kuajok Municipal Council confirmed the arrest of 30 suspects during an overnight operation led by the newly formed Joint Security Forces. The sweep targeted individuals who broke into shops, as well as those loitering in the market area at midnight.

Following the investigation, the Mayor confirmed that all detainees will be held fully accountable for their actions under the law.

Tonj North County Commissioner Attends Peace Meeting Organised by TOCH South Sudan in Luony-Aker

Luony-Aker, Gogrial East County 31st July 2026, The Commissioner of Tonj North County Hon. Agany Lok Agany attended a one-day peace meeting organised by TOCH South Sudan in Luony-Aker, Gogrial East County, aimed at promoting peace, reconciliation, and peaceful coexistence among neighbouring communities.

The meeting focused on identifying the root causes of inter-community violence and exploring practical solutions to strengthen dialogue, mutual understanding, and sustainable peace across two counties.

The dialogue brought together the Commissioner of Tonj North County, representatives from Gogrial East County, Mijook-Wuot leaders, women leaders, community leaders, peace coordinators, and other key stakeholders committed to restoring stability and fostering stronger relations between the neighbouring communities.

The peace meeting is expected to continue with further engagements and consultations to develop lasting resolutions, reinforce cooperation, and enhance peaceful coexistence between the communities.

Presidential Advisor Tuk Urges Bahr el Ghazal League to Include Upper Nile and Equatoria in Tournament

The Presidential Advisor of National Security Affairs, Hon. Tuk Gatluak Manime, has called on the organizers of the Bahr el Ghazal Counties Tournament to expand the competition by including teams from the Upper Nile and Equatoria regions.

Speaking during the tournament draw and fund-Raising ceremony held at Pyramid Hotel, Hon. Tuk said sports play a vital role in promoting peace, unity, and love among South Sudanese communities.

He emphasized that the participation of all regions in national sporting events is essential for strengthening national unity and fostering a sense of one nation despite ethnic and regional differences.

"The participation of all regions in South Sudan is important for building one nation and promoting unity through sports," he said.

Hon. Tuk also pledged his financial support for the tournament but explained that his contribution would be delivered privately through the leadership of the Bahr el Ghazal Counties Tournament rather than being announced publicly.

"I will support the Bahr el Ghazal Counties Tournament financially, but I will not announce my contribution publicly. It will be handed over through the leadership of the tournament," Tuk said.

BREAKING: Tonj South county commissioner ban RUFT in the market, Tonj .

South County Commissioner, Gordon Makuer Tiau, has issued a two-week ultimatum to traders selling Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF), ordering them to remove the products from the market.
Speaking during a live interview in on Wednesday, with Door FM, the Commissioner emphasized that RUTF is not an ordinary food item but a therapeutic medicine specifically intended for the treatment of malnourished children. He warned that any trader found selling RUTF after the two-week deadline would face confiscation of the products.

Hon. Gordon stated that the confiscated RUTF would be distributed to Operation Police officers and other organized forces who spend long hours on night patrols protecting residents and enforcing the town's curfew. He remarked that these security personnel also deserve nutritional support because they remain on duty throughout the night to safeguard the community.
