National team coach suspended after controversial post-match remarks

The South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF) has suspended the head coach of the national football team for 15 days after his public comments following the World Cup Qualifiers match against Senegal.

In a statement released today, the federation apologized to fans, partners, and the wider football community for what it called “unsatisfactory results” and “unprofessional statements” made after the game.

According to the federation, the decision was made during an extraordinary executive committee meeting held earlier today to discuss the coach’s remarks and the team’s overall performance.

“The Head Coach is hereby suspended from his duties for a period of fifteen (15) days for breaching his contractual obligations and violating Article N (3) of the coach professional contract,” the statement read.

The SSFF has also set up an independent investigation committee to review the issue and report back within the suspension period.

Meanwhile, the assistant coach will take charge of the national team on an interim basis as preparations continue.

The federation said it remains committed to professionalism, transparency, and restoring fans’ confidence after a disappointing run in the qualifiers.
