South Sudan’s Senior Four Examinations Begin for 44,000 Candidates

About 44,000 Senior Four students across South Sudan began their Certificate of Secondary Education examinations this morning, marking the start of a nine-day assessment period for the country’s highest level of secondary schooling.

Minister of General Education Kuyok Abol Kuyok described the exams as a pivotal milestone for students preparing to transition into university studies. He also underscored the urgency of releasing the Primary Eight results to ensure the next academic year begins as scheduled.

“Our priority now is to produce the results for primary education because they need to start Senior One on time,” Minister Kuyok said. “After that, we will move to marking the Senior Four papers and hand the results to the Ministry of Higher Education for university admission.”

Primary Eight candidates completed their examinations last Friday, with officials now focusing on processing and publishing the results swiftly.

The management of Door 99.9 & 96.9 FM would like to wish all the candidates sitting for their national examinations this week a successful one. Remember God is the source of knowledge and wisdom. Do these few things before you start writing anything on your paper.

1. Sit, relax
2. Pray to God for wisdom and knowledge over you and your colleagues
3. Read the instructions before you start answering any questions
4. Read the questions to the end
5. Answer the ones you are able to answer and then answer the rest at the end
6. Keep looking at the watch ⌚ and never panic
7. Keep a bottle of water next you and drink whenever your throat needs it.
8. Relax and never force your answers where not needed.
9. Before handing over the paper, revise your answers and see if there are changes possible.
10. You use pencil ✏️📝 when answering if that is allowed or else be sure of your answer of you are using a pen.
11. Relax and read through again.
12. Make sure you write clearly and very well to give the marker an appetite when marking your papers. Handwriting rewards at the end.
13. Ask the facilitator when you need clarification.
14. Never put your hope and trust on MACHOT "Black market rumored papers."
15. Thank the Lord again at the end of your paper and pray before you handover the paper.

Other things to do when you are at home

Simple things but very important

1. Have enough sleep. Never force reading if your mind is not ready for it

2. Eat enough food for studies drains the energy a lot. You need energy to study.

3. Drink a lot of water (fluids) for you can easily dehydrate.
4. Play for few minutes if you are a person who likes playing. Your mind/brain refreshes when you give enough time to body exercises.

5. Pray always before and after reading/studies. Don't be selfish and jealous. Pray for your colleagues as well.

Tonj South Commissioner Visits Tonj East to Assess Security, Calm Tensions

The Commissioner of Tonj South County, Hon. Col. John Ayitiak Warwien, visited Tonj East County from November 28–29, 2025, to assess security conditions and ease community tensions.

He was welcomed in Palal Payam by Tonj East Executive Director Makuei Mabior and met with local leaders, including Chief Malok Wol, who cautioned against unregulated cattle migration to TOCH and Tonj South, urging for clear government policy and proper disarmament before any movement.

The commissioner held public rallies in Palal, Wun-Yiik, Ngap-agok, and Malual-Cum Payams before proceeding to the Tonj East headquarters. During his visit to Ngap-agok, armed youth from Akook raided over 150 cattle from the Thiik community, but all cattle were recovered by Joint Forces and SSPDF without casualties.

Hon. Ayitiak urged the people of Tonj East to embrace peace and end communal violence, reminding youth that conflict brings no honour or legacy. He also met with the family of the Daga incident victim and Luanjang chiefs, who agreed to remain calm as the state investigates.

The visit concluded with commitments from local leaders to return all recently raided cattle to their rightful owners.
