Comedians' President Mr. Yai officially joins SPLM, declares support to President Kiir

The President of South Sudan Comedians' Union, Mr. Yai, has officially joined the South Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) and declared his support for President Salva Kiir Mayardit.

Mr, Yai announced his decision today, stating his commitment to rally behind the SPLM party and its leadership under President Kiir.

He said his move to join the ruling party is driven by his belief in the SPLM's vision for peace, unity, and development in South Sudan 🇸🇸

More than 3,400 people flee DRC into Ibba County over Ebola fears.🇸🇸🇨🇩

Authorities in Ibba County, Western Equatoria State say over 3,400 South Sudanese and Congolese nationals have crossed into the area in recent weeks after fleeing the Democratic Republic of Congo due to fears of an Ebola outbreak.

According to county officials, the majority of the new arrivals are women and children who walked for days through border areas to reach safety in Ibba. Many of them are South Sudanese returnees who had been living in DRC, while others are Congolese families seeking refuge.

Local leaders say the sudden influx has put pressure on already limited resources. Food, clean water, shelter, and health services are urgently needed. Health teams have been deployed to border points to screen arrivals for symptoms and to carry out Ebola awareness campaigns.

Western Equatoria State authorities are working with humanitarian partners to set up reception centers and provide basic support. They are also calling on the national government and aid agencies to intervene quickly to prevent a health and humanitarian crisis.

So far, no confirmed Ebola cases have been reported in Ibba County. However, officials say surveillance and community sensitization will continue to ensure early detection and prevention.

The situation highlights how health emergencies in neighboring countries can quickly affect border communities in South Sudan.

A victim who falls into oil wast's pool has arrived in Juba, South Sudan for further medical treatment.

Kassare Nyier Gatluak, who was victim affected by the alleged GPOC waste exposure in Unity State, was transferred from Rubkona to Juba for advanced medical care.

According to family sources, her condition requires Specialized treatment that is not available in Bentiu State hospital in Unity State Bentiu therefore she is currently admitted and is expected to undergo further medical examination and treatment in Juba.

She was received by the government of Unity State in Juba headed by Hon. Kuichiang Kuol Geaw the coordinator of Unity State coordination Office and the representative of Unity State government in Juba, South Sudan and Dr John Mut Bol Kiir the CD and AC manager at GPOC who was also the one participating her travels from Unity State to Juba.

Her family is calling for support and prayers for her quickly recovery.
