A Ugandan court in Kampala has sentenced South Sudanese national Abuk Boules Manyiel to six months in Luzira Prison for lacking a valid visa.

Friends say Abuk was arrested for overstaying after her visa expired 3 months ago. She faced the court without legal representation, and her child has now been left in the care of friends.

Family and friends say they have contacted the South Sudanese embassy in Uganda, but received no support in the case.

Israel to send emergency aid to South Sudan

Israel will send emergency humanitarian aid to South Sudan to combat a deadly cholera outbreak, a renowned Isreali journalist disclosed.

According to Hananya Naftali, the aid package includes medical supplies, food, and clean water kits, which aim to support efforts to curb the spread of the disease.

The decision comes as South Sudan faces a worsening cholera crisis, with the disease rapidly affecting communities. Israel’s assistance follows its long-standing commitment to supporting countries in need during times of crisis.

The move also follows media reports revealing that Israel and South Sudan are in talks regarding the resettlement of Palestinians currently living in Gaza, claims South Sudan Ministry of Foriegn Affairs denied.
