THE OFFICE OF MAYIANDIT COUNTY WISHES TO ADDRESS RECENT MISINFORMATION AND BASELESS CLAIMS BY SOME MEDIA OUTLETS REGARDING THE COMPOUND OCCUPIED BY THE FORMER COMMISSIONER.
The compound in question was originally the office of Women Vision, a project-focused organization. Upon completion of Women Vision's project, the facility was duly handed over to the Women League of Mayiandit County, as per standard practice for such transitions.
Regrettably, the former Commissioner subsequently took unauthorized occupation of the premises, with apparent intentions to claim it as personal property. This action is contrary to the interests of the community and the Women League, which rightfully should utilize the facility for its programs benefiting women and the community.
The Government of Mayiandit County issued a directive instructing the former Commissioner to vacate the premises and return the compound to the Women League within a period of two weeks. Unfortunately, the former Commissioner has failed to comply with this lawful directive.
We emphasize that the Government of Mayiandit County respects the rule of law and the rights of community organizations like the Women League to utilize facilities intended for community benefit. The actions of the former Commissioner are not condoned by the government, and we are taking steps to ensure the facility is returned to its rightful users, the Women League of Mayiandit County.
We urge all stakeholders and the public to disregard the misinformation propagated by certain media outlets and understand the facts of the situation. The Government of Mayiandit County remains committed to transparency, accountability, and serving the best interests of our community.
