Duluit Bol Deng Community Urged to Help Students Avoid Dropouts
Bol Kur Angok, the Community Coordinator for Duluit Bol Deng in Wau, is asking community members worldwide to raise funds for students at the University of Bahr El Ghazal who may drop out due to financial difficulties. This situation has arisen because of rising tuition costs, increased hostel fees, and the lack of a feeding program.
In an interview with Aweil News Agency from the university campus, Bol Kur said, โI call for our community, Duluit Bol Deng, worldwide to contribute some money to help students who are about to drop out. We have final-year students who havenโt paid their tuition and have nowhere to stay because hostel fees are now $50, which is too expensive, and thereโs no feeding program in the hostel; students are starving.โ
He also mentioned that the university administration announced that โMonday is the deadline for students who havenโt paid. Those who do not pay will not be allowed to attend lectures or access the hostels unless they have their university IDs.โ
Bol Kur concluded, โI need our community to make small contributions as we did in previous years so that we can pay half of the tuition fees, allowing these students to attend their first semester lectures.โ
