Central Equatoria State Convenes Ordinary Meeting to Address Current Challenges

The governor of Central Equatoria State, Emanuel Adil Anthony, has chaired the ordinary meeting for the State Council of Ministers.

According to the statement extended to the media, the meeting was conducted on Thursday with the hope of strategizing initiatives aimed at service delivery to residents in the state.

โ€œGovernor Emmanuel Adil Anthony chairs the first-ever Ordinary Council of Ministers' meeting following the recent major reshuffling within the Transitional Government of Central Equatoria State through Presidential Decrees,โ€ the statement partly read.

According to the statement, the session marks a fresh chapter for the State Government as the new cabinet convenes to prioritize service delivery and administrative matters.

Nasir Commissioner orders evacuation of civilians, NGOs ahead of planned military operation

The Commissioner of Nasir County in Upper Nile State, Changuoth Ruan Jal, has issued an urgent evacuation order to civilians and humanitarian organizations operating in areas under the control of Sudan Peopleโ€™s Liberation Armyโ€“In Opposition.

In a press statement dated March 15, 2026, the Commissionerโ€™s office warned that Mandeng market and surrounding villages are expected to become the next military targets under an operation referred to as โ€œOperation Enduring Peace โ€“ Phase Two.โ€

According to the order, residents of Mandeng and Torkech towns have been instructed to relocate to the eastern bank of the Sobat River within 72 hours to ensure their safety ahead of the planned military activities.

The directive also advises national and international humanitarian organizations working in the affected areas to temporarily relocate either to Nasir Town or other safer locations within the same timeframe.

Authorities say the evacuation is a precautionary measure aimed at minimizing civilian casualties as security forces prepare to carry out the operation in those areas.
