Aleu Akol Athuai Picks Nomination Form to Contest Kuac Area Constituency No. 7

Hon. Aleu Akol Athuai, alias Aleu Akol Malak, has today picked up his nomination form at the SPLM House in Juba to contest for the position of National Member of Parliament representing Kuac Area Constituency No. 7 in the National Legislative Assembly (NLA).

The move marks his formal expression of interest in representing the people of Kuac Area at the national level.

Hon. Aleu Akol Athuai is a former State Minister for Local Government in the defunct Gogrial State, where he served in the state administration.

🚨 SACRED HEART FC-RUMBEK’S UNBEATEN RUN COMES TO AN END 🦁⚽️

Sacred Heart FC-Rumbek’s impressive unbeaten run in the Rumbek Football Association (RFA) has come to an end after Gold Star FC-Rumbek secured a 2–0 victory over the Lion Boys.

The Lion Boys had been outstanding since last year, remaining unbeaten in the South Sudan Cup before opening the new season strongly with three consecutive victories.

Their unbeaten journey has finally come to an end, but the campaign continues. 💪🔥

We are deeply disappointed with the officiating in the Rumbek League.
We have documented two serious incidents where our goalkeeper was recklessly fouled, yet the referees failed to issue any disciplinary action for such dangerous play.
In the first incident, the opposing striker fouled our goalkeeper well after the ball was gone. This challenge left him with three broken teeth, bodily bruises, and a fractured finger. Shockingly, no foul was called—let alone a card—even though he was forced out of the match and unable to continue playing.
History repeated itself yesterday. A striker went in with high boots after our goalkeeper had already secured the ball, landing squarely on his legs with a reckless challenge. Once again, the officials did not award a foul or issue a card.
Therefore, we strongly urge the Rumbek Referees Association to elevate their standards and maintain proper control over matches by utilizing disciplinary cards when necessary.
From a psychological perspective, we all know that these systemic failures make teams overly defensive; no one wants to lose, and competition naturally becomes much more volatile. However, it is only by implementing strict preventive measures and consistent officiating that we can curb this chaos and protect player safety in every game."
