🔴 BREAKING NEWS: Political Activist Edward Ashiek Calls for Regime Change

JUBA — Political activist Edward Ashiek, speaking during a live broadcast on VOTPF, has called for regime change in South Sudan, urging unity among the country’s 64 tribes and opposition groups to challenge the leadership of President Salva Kiir, which he described as a “dictatorship.”

Ashiek accused the government of targeting activists abroad, alleging arrests and extraditions. He said the current political situation leaves “no option” but for leadership change, using the phrase “Kiir Must Go.”

He further urged opposition groups to avoid armed violence, advocating instead for non-violent means of political change, citing examples from Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, and Sudan. Ashiek emphasized youth mobilization as key to preventing national collapse.

The government has not responded to the remarks at the time of publication.

Dear Chuany Ciejak (Simon Gatwech Dual),

I am writing this letter to earnestly appeal to you to come back home and help rebuild our strength once again. The Lou Nuer community misses you deeply for your moral support and longs for your leadership to restore our dignity and unity.

A few years ago, the Lou Nuer community, as well as Nuer in general, was so powerful that we could move mountains together. Your departure has left a huge void in our midst, and we feel the loss every day and We all recognize now that you were right in your decision to defect. You foresaw the dangers of rushing to Juba without proper preparation, and soon after, the situation unfolded exactly as you predicted, President Kiir started with Machar himself. Your vision proved true.

Now is the perfect time for you to return home, reconcile with the community, rejoin the IO, and help rebuild our momentum to finish the work together. We are unhappy seeing you remain in neighboring Sudan while your motherland is still safe for you.

🔴Over 1,000 SSOA Soldiers Defect to SPLA-IO in Akobo County.

Akobo County, Jonglei State — More than 1,000 soldiers formerly aligned with the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) have officially declared their allegiance to the SPLA-IO in Akobo County.
The group, led by Brigadier General Muoch Dak Banang, was received by the SPLA-IO Brigade Commander in Akobo County, General Thor Gang.

Sources on the ground indicate that the reception was orderly and symbolic, signaling a growing momentum within opposition ranks. Political and military analysts across the country suggest that more declarations may follow in other parts of the country in the coming days.
