Sad news!

Three Sisters Succumb to Poisoning in Juba.

People of Lakes State and South Sudan woke up to heartbreaking news today as three sisters tragically lost their lives due to poisoning in Juba. The victims have been identified as Achol Chol Arol, Abeny Chol Arol, and Abeny Chol Arol, daughters of General Isaac Chol Arol Kulueljang.

The circumstances surrounding the poisoning remain unclear, and investigations are ongoing. The sudden and tragic loss has left the family, community, and local authorities in deep shock and mourning.

The incident occurred last night, with the sisters found unresponsive in their residence. Achol Chol Arol, who was recently married in Tonj East for a dowry of 200 cows, and her half-sisters were students at Bishop Mazzolari memorial Secondary School in Rumbek.

More details on this tragedy will follow as investigations are ongoing.

Today , March 12, 2025, H.E Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel, Vice President and Chairperson of the Economic Cluster , has made a public appeal to citizens to remain calm and to disregard fake information circulating on social media regarding the deployment of Ugandan People’s Defense Forces in the country.

The Vice President emphasized that the nation’s security is a priority and reassured citizens about the safety of Juba, citing the ongoing efforts of security forces who are deployed to tackle crime.

In his address, his Excellency highlighted the importance of engaging with international peace partners such as IGAD, EAC, and the Troika nations to discuss the remaining aspects of the 2018 peace agreement, aiming to facilitate the country’s preparations for the national democratic elections

We, the undersigned members of the Jiec-El-Amer, Katiba-Banat, and Katiba-Chietha, together with thousands of our fellow young and female liberators, wish to express our deepest condolences on the untimely passing of our esteemed comrade, the late General and Ambassador Bior (Aswad) Ajang de Duot.

In the arduous years of our struggle for liberation, Bior stood as a beacon of courage, leadership, and unyielding commitment. As an Alternate Commander, he not only led numerous frontline battles in South Sudan, Southern Kordofan, and Southern Blue Nile but also served as a guiding light for the Red Army, girls' battalions, and women's battalions. His unique bond with us was born out of his innate ability to teach, instruct, and mentor—a reflection of his professional background as a teacher. His dedication to resourcing the movement with skilled and passionate volunteers was instrumental in bringing us closer to the dream of independence.

The pain we feel at his sudden departure is profound, not just because we have lost a leader, but because we have lost a brother-in-arms who fought tirelessly for the marginalized people of Sudan, particularly South Sudan. Bior's comradeship, care, and service to us as members of the SPLM/A's Jiec-El-Amer, Katiba-Banat, and Katiba-Chietha will forever be etched in our hearts.

As we mourn his passing, we find solace in the knowledge that his spirit will be welcomed into the arms of his fellow comrades who have gone before him. We believe that he will rest in eternal peace among them, embraced by the heavenly host for his sacrifices and unwavering dedication.

We stand together in gratitude and salute his memory, pledging to carry forward the legacy of the liberation struggle that he so valiantly championed.
