The construction of Mvolo Central ECSS Church is progressing well, with contributions of all kinds being offered by the church congregation and communities in the area.

As seen in the picture, women from Woyo Center and Mvolo Emmanuel Parish are contributing by supplying water for the ongoing construction work.

MVOLO OFFICIALS VISIT BAPTIST CHURCH CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

Mvolo County, Western Equatoria State — August 28, 2026

Mvolo County government officials this morning visited Mvolo’s First Baptist Church, where they witnessed the ongoing church construction project.

Speaking to the media, James Ndo Machar, Church Partnership Manager, said the development is not limited to the construction of the church building but includes several projects aimed at supporting the wider community.

According to Machar, the projects include nursery, primary and secondary schools, a Bible Institute, a guest house, a hospital, and a radio station.

He said the projects are expected to contribute to the development of Mvolo County and South Sudan at large by providing important services and opportunities for the community.

Machar called on the people of Mvolo and the government to support the projects and work together to find ways of promoting development in the area.

He emphasized that cooperation between the community, government and church will be important in ensuring the successful completion of the projects.

Northern Bahr el Ghazal Bans the Sale of Humanitarian Supplies

Northern Bahr el Ghazal Government has announced it has banned the sale of humanitarian supplies in markets across the state.

Acting RRC Chairperson Gabriel Bol Dut said the directive aims to ensure aid reaches intended beneficiaries, schools and health facilities. Violators will face legal action.

State police and the Ministry of Health said they will work with the RRC to enforce the ban and prevent the diversion of humanitarian aid.

Breaking News: Mboriman leads Amadi State Governor's online poll by a wide margin, defeating Joseph Ngere and 16 others

An online public opinion poll conducted by Witto TV, assuming the reinstatement of Amadi State, has produced decisive results, with Mboriman Edward Mbory emerging as the clear front-runner among 17 shortlisted candidates for the governorship.

The poll, conducted purely to gauge public opinion and encourage civic engagement, attracted a total of 259 votes from citizens of Greater Amadi and observers. Below are the full results with votes and percentages:

Mvolo commissioner bans nightclubs

The County Commissioner of Mvolo County, Western Equatoria, Rubben Amaai, has renewed a ban on nightclub activities, citing growing concerns that children are engaging in risky behaviors, including early pregnancy and juvenile delinquency during such events

This order was issued a few months ago, and he has now renewed it, urging enforcement agencies to implement it immediately. He said this order will stay in place as long as he is the commissioner, and it will only stop if he is removed from his position.

The renewal comes at a time when such nightclub activities are becoming widespread.
