Governor Charles Madut Akol Conducts Road Assessment Tour in Aweil East County
Governor Charles Madut Akol of Northern Bahr el Ghazal on Sunday conducted an assessment tour of the Aweil–Wanyjok road, Wanyjok–Madol road, and Madol–Peth road to evaluate their conditions and ongoing infrastructure challenges.
Upon his arrival in Aweil East County, the governor was received by County Commissioner Hon. Garang Thiang Deng at Kanajak Roundabout before proceeding to Peth.
Addressing residents in Peth, Governor Charles Madut Akol said the purpose of his visit was to assess the condition of the roads connecting Peth, Wanyjok, and Aweil Town. He thanked the people of Peth for the warm reception, describing the large turnout as unexpected and expressing appreciation for their hospitality.
During the tour, the governor also visited Malual-Baai Payam to inspect the condition of the unfinished Tielcuai feeder road project, which was initiated by former governor Simon Ober Mawut.
While returning from Malual-Baai, Governor Madut visited Madhol Field Hospital to personally assess the condition of the health facility. He inspected different sections of the hospital and received a briefing from the hospital director regarding its operations and challenges.
The governor also interacted with patients at the hospital and encouraged them to continue taking their medication. He further commended the doctors and medical staff of Madhol Field Hospital for the services they are providing to the people of South Sudan.
In the final phase of the tour, Governor Charles Madut Akol visited the ARC compound to inspect the production of culverts. He was briefed by the compound manager, Deng Akok Deng, on the overall progress and general situation of culvert production.
The governor was accompanied by County Commissioner Hon. Garang Thiang Deng, state ministers, advisers, and other government officials.
