As part of his series of field visits to schools in the Abyei Special Administrative Area, the Minister of Education, Hon. Karbino Dut Aguek Kiir, together with the Director General in the Ministry, Hon. Jok Alor Bulabek, paid a courtesy visit to Kuol Adol Secondary School.
The minister and his accompanying delegation were received by the school administration, teachers, and students. The students expressed their joy at the visit by offering greetings during the morning assembly.
During his address to the female students, Hon. Karbino Dut Aguek advised them to adhere to education, continue their studies, and not drop out of school for unconscious reasons, especially early marriage. He emphasized that education represents the basic path to building a better future for girls and society.
Furthermore, the Minister pointed out the importance of continuing education until obtaining a university degree as an important step towards obtaining job opportunities and building a stable professional future.
He also sent a direct message to the female students, calling on them not to be deceived by the external appearances of some young people and not to make fateful decisions based on what a person wears or how he appears in the street. He stressed that appearance does not necessarily reflect a personโs future, morals, or ability to bear responsibility.
Finally, Hon. Karbino Dut, the Minister of Education, concluded his speech by emphasizing that educated girls represent a fundamental pillar in building the family and society and that investing in girlsโ education is an investment in the future of Abyei.
