In the heart of strife, where bombs are songs,
In Wharton's lands, where war prolongs,
A child is born midst chaos' might,
In South Sudan's embrace, shrouded in night.
Their journey begins, not with a cry,
But with the tremors of war passing by,
In a land where dreams are fragile as glass,
Their future dimmed by conflict's brass.
Yet hope persists in a refugee's heart,
A flickering flame amid the dark,
They flee to camps, seeking refuge's light,
Yearning for safety, craving for right.
But in the halls where aid is bestowed,
Where scholarships gleam, like promises sowed,
They find their dreams shackled by age's chain,
Denied the chance to learn, to gain.
For time, a cruel master in their plight,
Robbed them of childhood's innocent flight,
Delayed by war's relentless roar,
They stand at education's closed door.
Yet still they rise, with resilience unbowed,
Their voices echo, though not allowed,
For their story speaks of courage untold,
In the face of adversity, they behold.
So let us listen, let us hear,
The silent cries of those held dear,
For in their struggle, lies a plea,
To break the chains, to set them free.
Let us be the voice for those unheard,
Let us stand for justice, undeterred,
For every refugee, every child,
Deserves a chance to dream, to smile.
In the tapestry of humanity's grace,
Let us weave a thread of empathy's embrace,
For in their story, we find our own,
In their journey, seeds of hope are sown.
