A disturbing incident in Juba’s Sherikat area has sparked outrage after nine young boys were arrested for allegedly kidnapping and sexually assaulting a teenage girl, Aduk Garang. However, further analysis of the video reveals a more complicated situation.

According to reports, the victim’s mother sent her to buy groceries in the evening, but she did not return. The boys allegedly took her to an unfinished building, where the assault occurred.

However, the video suggests the girl knew at least some of the boys. She is heard calling one by name and speaking to him before the assault. Sources claim Aduk had previously dated one of the attackers before breaking up with him. It is alleged that the boys lured her under false pretenses before the assault took place.

The suspects, including her ex-boyfriend who reportedly recorded the act, have been arrested. Investigations are ongoing.
