SAD NEWS: One Person Dies Following Gold Mine Wall Collapse in Jebel Iraq

At least one person has died after a wall collapsed at a gold mining site in the Palotor area of Jebel Iraq, Central Equatoria State.

The incident reportedly occurred today at approximately 11:00 a.m.

An eyewitness told Aweil News Agency (ANA) that the deceased was a native of Aweil East County, specifically from Warawar.

Appeal to the WSPT Committee

Dear WSPT Committee,

Since tomorrow is a very difficult and important day for us, as we will be receiving the body of our beloved elder, Hon. Molana Mayen Wol Jong Mayen, from Nairobi to Juba, why can’t we consider postponing the semi-final match between Gogrial East and Tonj North?

This is a time for us to stand together, share the pain with his family, and mourn with the entire Gogrial West community. He was not only a leader, but also an elder to many of us.
Football can wait for another day, but this moment of mourning and paying our respects to our departed elder is something we cannot replace.
We kindly appeal to the WSPT Committee to postpone tomorrow’s match and reschedule it for another suitable date, so that we can stand together in this difficult moment.
