In tonight's republican decrees, President Kiir has relieved Gen. Paul Nang as the Chief of Defence Forces and appointed Gen. Dau Aturjong as the new CDF. Kiir also relieved Peter Gasulu as the Chief Administrator of Greater Pibor and appointed Gola Boyoi Gola who once served as the Chief Administrator of Pibor.

Let’s head now to Seville, Spain, where South Sudan is calling for fair and increased access to development finance, debt relief, and greater inclusion of vulnerable countries in global decision-making processes on economic governance. South Sudan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Cecilia Adut Manyok, represented President Salva Kiir at the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, happens after every 10 years, attended by 23 Heads of State.
