Governor Sarah suspends security advisor who accused her of corruption

Western Bahr el-Ghazal State Governor Sarah Cleto Rial on Tuesday suspended her state security advisor, Marko Peter Achor.

The suspension came just a week after Achor accused the Governor of diverting two UNMISS-donated vehicles to her home in Juba.

Citizens of WBGS Demand the Removal of Governor

In a statement obtained by Al Hagiga News Network, citizens of Western Bahr El Ghazal State are calling on Gen.Salva Kiir Mayardit the President of Republic of South Sudan to dismiss Governor Sarah Cleto Rial. The statement, signed by representatives of the youth, women, and elders, cites weak leadership and corruption as reasons for their demand.

Last week, the governor promised citizens that employee salaries would be paid during a religious event at Wau Church, which only increased dissatisfaction with her. Additionally, her security advisor accused her of corruption.

Gen.David Yau Yau joined Riek Machar Party's

On Monday, April 1st, 2024, the SPLM (IO) party's held a press conference to announce the welcoming of Hon. Gen. David Yau Yau and his group.
Gen. Yau Yau is the former leader of the South Sudan Democratic Movement/South Sudan Defence Army-Cobra Faction, a former Chief Administrator of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA), a former Deputy Minister of Labour and Public Service, former Deputy of defence, a former Member of the Transitional Legislative Assembly (TNLA), a former Member of the SPLM (IG) Liberation Council , and a former Member of the SPLM(IG) political Bureau.

Along with Gen. Yau Yau, more than 20 members from Northern Bahr El Ghazal State have also decided to resign from the SPLM (IG) and joins the SPLM (IO) under the leadership of H.E. Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon.

Meanwhile Regina Joseph Kapa she's also Secretary General of the SPLM (IO) party's was pleased to welcome the newly joined members, and Pal Mai Deng, the SPLM (IO) Spokesperson.

During the press conference, the SPLM (IO) party call for third party to Mediate the Inter-Party dialogue to conduct the election.
