‎Our President of the Abiriu football Team, Mr. Awur Maker Awur has stepped up once again with bountiful donation of $400 to support the team.
‎
‎Today Abiriu Payam football team in Juba has received a wonderful boost from their undisputed head of the table, He has instructed the executive committee to use these funds to purchase new away jerseys to ensure that the team looks sharp and ready as we gear up for the upcoming Gok Inter-Payams Peace Tournament.
‎
‎The executive team led by Mr. Awur has appreciated him for huge support, they used to say, Mr- Awur Maker is more than just a president, he is a true leader who prudent cares for his people.
‎His commitment to the Abiriu football team is unmatched. He is a leader who stands by his people, supporting us both morally and financially whenever we need it most.

Kiir Pays Tribute to SPLA Heroes on 43rd Anniversary

Salva Kiir Mayardit has honored the sacrifices of South Sudan’s liberation heroes during the 43rd SPLA Day anniversary, paying tribute to Battalion 105 forces who fired the first bullet that launched the revolution.

In his message, Kiir remembered fallen martyrs and praised liberation figures including John Garang de Mabior, Kerubino Kuanyin Bol, and William Nyuon Bany for their courage and determination during the struggle for independence.

He urged organized forces to uphold the values of the liberation struggle while restoring law and order across the country. Kiir also called on citizens to unite and work together for a peaceful, united, and prosperous South Sudan.

The Management Committee of the Gok Inter-Payam Peace Tournament in Juba invites all nine Payam team presidents and head coaches to attend an important meeting on Sunday, 17th May 2026.

ATTENDANCE IS RESTRICTED TO:

1. Team presidents
2. Head coaches
3. Two representatives from GYU leadership – the Chairman and one executive

Attendance is in person only. Delegation is not allowed.

NB: The tournament’s opening date will be announced during the meeting. The public can watch live online via Gok Media.

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives, their youth, and their happiness for the freedom of South Sudan. Your courage, resilience, and determination brought hope to millions of people and gave birth to our beloved nation.

You suffered in the bush, faced hunger, pain, displacement, and loss, yet you never gave up on the dream of freedom and independence. Because of your sacrifices, today we proudly raise the flag of South Sudan as a free nation.

To all veterans, your legacy will never be forgotten. You are the true heroes of our land. Though our country still faces many challenges, your sacrifices continue to inspire the younger generation to stand for peace, unity, and love for our nation.

As children of South Sudan, we thank you for everything you endured for us. May the souls of our fallen heroes and heroines continue to rest in eternal peace, and may God strengthen all those who are still alive today.
