Breaking: Chaos Erupts At Paloch Airport After National Security Officers Clash Over Deployment Orders

This morning, heavy fighting erupted at Paloch Airport in Northern Upper Nile State, igniting chaos among National Security forces. The issue began when a group of 21 newly deployed troops refused to accept their assignment, demanding to return to Juba. Tensions escalated as they attempted to force their way onto a plane, leading to an exchange of gunfire.

Sources indicate that over 21 members of the National Security forces expressed their refusal to remain at their designated posts, insisting on returning home. When ordered to stay, the dissenting group allegedly cocked their weapons and opened fire on their fellow soldiers, resulting in three injuries.

In response to the uprising, authorities managed to repel the officers who defied their deployment orders. Some were arrested, while others fled the scene, further complicating the situation.

However, Efforts to contact the National Security Spokesperson for comments on the incident have been unsuccessful, leaving many questions unanswered as the situation develops.

Bank of South Sudan Orders Release of Small Denominations as SSP Gains Strength Against USD

The Bank of South Sudan has announced that all commercial banks in the country are now required to begin distributing smaller denominations of the South Sudanese Pound (SSP), including 1, 5, 10, and 25 SSP notes. This move comes as the SSP is gaining strength against the US dollar, signaling a positive shift in the countryโ€™s economy. By making smaller denominations available, the bank aims to facilitate easier transactions for everyday purchases and foster greater circulation of the local currency.

The government has further urged all security agencies to collaborate closely with the public in monitoring market activities, particularly in identifying and reporting any entities that refuse to accept these smaller notes. Businesses or individuals who are found rejecting these denominations should be reported to the nearest police station.

This initiative aims to ensure that the SSP remains accessible to all citizens and that the public confidence in the currency continues to grow. By enforcing the use of smaller denominations, the government hopes to strengthen financial inclusion and curb inflationary tendencies in the market. Security personnel and citizens alike are expected to work together to make the rollout of these smaller notes successful, ensuring that the countryโ€™s economic remains on a positive trajectory.

God bless South Sudan

South Sudan has been battling with both internal and external political and economic throes which it has find hard to free itself from. As a newly independent nation that has gone through a protracted civil war which was won and later on resulted in Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) and finally independence of South Sudan on July 9, 2011, the country was dragged into bloody civil war by some greedy politicians who are so impatient to wait for general elections which were scheduled to take place in 2015.

The war of December 15, 2013 was not only engineered locally by those political figures looking for power but also by external political influence which came from those foreign governments with interest in South Sudan. as such the local politicians were mobilized against the government of H. E the President of the Republic with intention of using them to undermine or really overthrow the government of South Sudan. After the 2013 outbreak of civil war, these foreign governments imposed unverified targeted sanctions against innocent South Sudanese leaders and the country as a whole leading to prevention of South Sudanese leaders from travelling abroad and freezing their assets abroad as well.

In this regard, there are particular sanctions which have been unreasonably imposed on South Sudan. The first is arms embargo and ban on supplying services: this type of sanction is aimed at prohibiting direct or indirect supply, sell or transfer of arms and related materials including ammunitions, military vehicles and equipments, paramilitary equipments or related spare parts from the European Union countries to South Sudan. It also prohibited to provide technical and financial assistance related to military activities and services.
