In a country where football is more than just a game—it’s a source of pride, unity, and hope—change is on the horizon. For the first time in the history of the South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF), a woman is contesting for the position of Second Vice President. And she’s not just making history—she’s charting a new course for the future of football in South Sudan.

Meet Anna Nyakuet Taker—a respected sports advocate, seasoned administrator, and fierce believer in inclusion. With deep experience in grassroots football, women empowerment, and community engagement, Anna is bringing a fresh and transformative vision to the leadership of the federation.

Her journey is one defined by merit and passion. In 2022, Anna was selected to attend the prestigious UEFA/FIFA Women in Football Leadership Programme in Geneva, Switzerland, under the theme “Developing Leaders, Transforming Organizations, Contributing to Society.” The experience sharpened her skills and reinforced her commitment to building systems that empower both women and men through sport.

Back home, Anna has already left a strong mark within the SSFF. She has served for four years on the Federation’s Board of Directors as head of the Finance Committee, playing a key role in accountability and strategic planning. Following her leadership training, FIFA appointed her as Coordinator of the FIFA Pilot Project on Menstrual Health Management in South Sudan—making her a pioneer in integrating health and dignity into the lives of young female athletes.

Now, Anna is stepping forward to lead at an even higher level. As the only female candidate in the race for Second Vice President, her candidacy sends a bold message: women have a rightful place in shaping the direction of South Sudanese football.

This is more than a campaign—it’s a movement for equity, representation, and lasting change in sports leadership. It’s time for a federation that reflects the talents and aspirations of all South Sudanese.

➖ The Mighty Tonj North (MTN) is eager to start their campaign with a heavy win in Juba National Stadium against Jur River County per their BCl 2nd edition performance. MTN was the favorite and outstanding team in BCL last year

➖ Yirol East and Awerial had another chance to permanently clear their doubts against each other and start solving their unfinished businesses since both teams last meeting was a draw. And they rest of their meetings were fans mouth meeting. Each team claiming superiority over the other

➖ Abyei as the only Administrative Area among the Counties, need to fight harder for Group B top position and have chance to qualify to R16 since they were knocked out in groups during the abandoned BCL

➖ Generally, the criterion for drawing last night were insufficient and inconvenient due to what the Committee termed as computer err and as well, due to pick and fix instead of strictly following rules of drawing

➖ The selection of the first game of the Tournament was not convenient to public

➖ It was wrong and illegal according to FIFA and Football rules to draw teams into groups before formally registering them—them whether free or monetary registration. Registration is crucial in knowing team's concern.
