REVEALED: GGABA MURDER SUSPECT A U.S. CITIZEN, ALLEGEDLY KILLED HIS STEP BROTHER IN 2017, CASE REPORTED AT KWANIA POLICE BUT WALKED SCOT-FREE

A chilling new twist has emerged in the gruesome Ggaba daycare massacre — the prime suspect, Christopher Okello Onyim, is a U.S. citizen who spent over 20 years living and working in America before returning to Uganda under unclear circumstances.

Police investigations reveal that Onyim came back to Uganda in November 2025 after decades in the United States, where he worked as a nursing assistant with a specialised homecare service in Northern Virginia.

Detectives are now probing whether he may have been deported, as questions swirl around his sudden return.

Upon arrival, Onyim reportedly tried to live quietly at his parents’ home in Bunga, a suburb of Kampala, before relocating to Nwoya District to pursue farming — a decision that allegedly put him at odds with his father, who had initially pushed him to remain in the U.S. with his siblings.

Sources say Onyim had long expressed a desire to return home and farm, but his father resisted. Determined, he reportedly found his own way back to Uganda.

After a brief stay in Kampala — in an apartment said to have been paid for by an embassy — his father eventually took him to Nwoya, where they set up a family farm.

However, his stay there was short-lived. Onyim later returned to Kampala and rented another apartment in Kyanja just weeks before the deadly attack.

THE MURDER PLAN

Investigators now believe the attack may have been carefully planned.

Days before the killings, Onyim reportedly visited the Ggaba Early Childhood Development Centre posing as a parent seeking admission for a child.

On the day of the attack, he allegedly paid school fees of sh180,000 via mobile money — a move detectives believe was meant to avoid suspicion.

He is also said to have purchased knives and padlocks prior to the incident.

In a horrifying sequence, Onyim allegedly locked the school gate and administration block before carrying out the brutal attack on the toddlers inside.

The victims have been identified as:
👉 Ryan Odeke (1.5 years)
👉 Keisha Otim (2 years)
👉 Gideon Eteko (2.5 years)
👉 Ignatius Sserunyange (2.5 years)

The nation has been left in shock over the senseless killing of such young, innocent lives.

DISTURBING PAST & MENTAL HEALTH QUESTIONS

As investigations deepen, detectives are also probing Onyim’s mental health and troubling past.

Reports suggest he may have previously been linked to a similar violent incident involving his stepbrothers in northern Uganda in 2017 — a case that remains shrouded in mystery after he reportedly walked free, with the matter filed at Keania Police.

Sources further claim there could be a history of mental health complications within the family, possibly linked to sickle cell-related conditions — though this remains under investigation.

Detectives say the suspect’s actions point to possible premeditation, noting that his earlier visit to the school may have been a calculated move to study the environment before striking.

“He came earlier to observe how the place operates,” a source revealed.

INVESTIGATIONS ONGOING

Onyim is currently in police custody as authorities work to uncover the full motive behind the attack and piece together his movements leading up to the tragedy.

Police say several key questions remain unanswered — including why he returned to Uganda and what exactly triggered the brutal killings.

The Ggaba massacre now stands as one of the most horrifying crimes in recent memory, leaving families shattered and a nation demanding answers.

BREAKING NEWS:

At least 73 people were killed and 25 more wounded in an attack on a gold mine in South Sudan, according to Vice President James Wani Igga.

The assault, which took place over the weekend, targeted the Khor Kaltan mining area, located about 70 kilometers (45 miles) southwest of the capital, Juba.

"At least 73 local miners have been tragically killed and 25 others seriously injured," Vice President Igga said in a statement. "We must urgently provide medical care and evacuation for those wounded."

He also called for a formal investigation to identify the perpetrators and motive behind the attack. "We must establish a formal inquiry to determine the identity and motive of these 'unidentified assailants'," Igga added.

The security source said it was "believed the attack was carried out" by Machar's opposition forces, though reports remain mixed. However, a spokesman for Riek Machar—who has been under house arrest for a year—denied any involvement and instead accused the South Sudanese army of responsibility.

Patrice Motsepe 🇿🇦 will travel to Senegal in the coming weeks! ✈️

The president of CAF wants to unite Senegalese and Moroccans! 🫂

🗣️: "My message is: we are with you, we support you." We are all Africans.

Many Senegalese live in Morocco

I said the same message to the Moroccans. We are not going to use football to divide people, it must bring people together. »

🇱🇷 George Weah supports Senegal 🇸🇳 after the CAF decision and talks about the rules:

"I call on the TAS and other competent authorities to act firmly so that this injustice is not maintained. ❌️

In football, the rules of the game are clear: the referee on the field is the final authority for the decisions made during the game. Once the game is allowed to continue and the match is over, the result achieved on the field must be maintained. ✅️

➡️ According to the applicable rules of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), match officials have full authority during the match.

CAF regulations comply with FIFA's Game Laws (Law 5) which state that: "The referee has full authority to enforce the laws of the game in relation to the match for which he has been appointed, and his decisions on the matters in relation to it." in the game are definite. »

In the present case of the CAN final between Senegal and Morocco, the referee allowed the match to continue after Senegal's withdrawal, and the match was conducted at its end, including overtime, with a result obtained on the field.

Also, after the match, the referee's report mentioned an interruption during the meeting, not a pass, and recommended appropriate penalties for offenses committed during the match.

For this reason, the later decision of the CAF committee, taken after the match, should not nullify the authority exercised by the referee during the match in accordance with the laws of the game.

I would also like to take this opportunity to clarify that the publications circulating widely on social networks stating that I support the decision of the CAF disciplinary committee against Senegal are completely false.

Anyone using my image and associating it with such false statements is requested to refrain from it. »

The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) 🇸🇳 has strongly rejected the CAF Appeals Board ruling, calling it unfair, unprecedented, and unacceptable.

They say it damages African football’s image and will immediately appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne, Switzerland.

This comes after CAF awarded the 2025 AFCON final to Morocco as a 3–0 forfeit, despite Senegal winning on the pitch.

The federation also plans to celebrate their AFCON title in France on March 28 against Peru, sharing the moment with fans in Paris.

They will challenge CAF’s decision and refuse to give up the trophy until the case is resolved.

BREAKING: The Confederation of African Football has officially awarded the 2025 African Cup of Nations title to Morocco following a decision by its Appeal Committee.

The ruling was made in accordance with Article 84 of the tournament’s regulations, which deemed Senegal to have forfeited the final match. As a result, a 3–0 victory was awarded to the Moroccan national team, and the outcome has now been formally confirmed.

With this decision, CAF has brought an end to the controversy surrounding the final, declaring Morocco as continental champions through a legal ruling, without the match being completed on the pitch.

Dr. Bak Barnaba Chol breaks the silence on the incident sparks online

His post reads:

𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐍𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐧.

First and foremost, I would like to assure my family, friends, colleagues, and the citizens of our country that I am physically and mentally well. I have not been subjected to any harm or torture. I am in stable condition, except for a slight ankle injury resulting from a dislocation sustained during yesterday’s commotion.
I am currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital, the name of which I have chosen not to disclose for security reasons.

There have been circulating reports suggesting that I was attempting to escape the country due to alleged corruption-related charges, and that I was apprehended as part of a broader list of officials targeted for arrest. I categorically state that I have not been served with any warrant of arrest, and to the best of my knowledge, my name is not among any list of individuals wanted by the authorities.

My presence in Nimule was not an attempt to flee. It was a normal and lawful trip. I had sought and obtained permission to travel for medical treatment in Uganda. While en route, I intended to conduct a brief business survey in Nimule before proceeding across the border for treatment.

As is customary at the point of entry into Uganda, a physical inspection was conducted. During this process, officers found that I was carrying a sum of money, which they proceeded to confiscate. I requested clarification for such action, unfortunately, this led to a misunderstanding and a tense exchange. In the confusion that followed, I left the scene, during which I sustained the ankle dislocation.

I want to reiterate that I am currently under medical care and focusing on recovery. Once I am fully stabilized and fit to move comfortably, I will return to my residence.

For those seeking further clarification, my wife, Asunta, who visited me today, is aware of the circumstances and may be contacted directly. Kindly note that my phones were lost during yesterday’s incident, and I am presently unreachable via direct calls or WhatsApp.

I remain committed to transparency and to upholding my dignity and the rule of law. I thank all those who have expressed concern and solidarity during this time.

Sacked Finance Minister Arrested in Nimule During Alleged Escape Attempt

Nimule, South Sudan – Former Finance Minister Bak Barnaba Chol has reportedly been arrested in Nimule while allegedly attempting to flee the country, just three days after being removed from his position at the Ministry of Finance.

Sources familiar with the incident say Dr. Bak was intercepted near the South Sudan–Uganda border as he allegedly tried to cross into the Ugandan side on a boda boda motorcycle. Authorities reportedly recognized him along the way and ordered him to stop.

According to witnesses, the former minister attempted to run but fell from the motorcycle during the commotion, resulting in a broken leg.

It remains unclear why Dr. Bak allegedly tried to escape. However, speculation suggests the move may be linked to ongoing government arrests targeting senior officials accused of corruption.

Officials have yet to release an official statement regarding the circumstances surrounding the arrest.
