Chinese Embassy Engages with Media Mentors Network to Strengthen Media Development in South Sudan
On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in Juba welcomed representatives from the Media Mentors Network, including its Chairperson and Coordinator, for a strategic engagement aimed at strengthening media collaboration and development in South Sudan.
Marina Modi, chair of the Media Mentors Network, said they are currently implementing a six-month Media and Information Literacy (MIL) project, funded by UNESCO South Sudan, with Mr. William playing a pivotal role as an educator and advocate.
During the meeting, Mr. Dhieu William, coordinator of the Media Mentors Network, shared key insights and best practices gained from his experience in China. He emphasized the importance of empowering young people to understand and harness the constructive role of media in national development.
In response, officials from the Chinese Embassy expressed their commitment to supporting the work of the Media Mentors Network. This includes exploring opportunities for media exchange visits to China and the possibility of hosting Chinese media experts in Juba in the near future.
This collaboration reflects a shared vision to build media capacity and foster mutual understanding through international exchange and cooperation.
