DHCP automatically assigns IP addresses to devices in a network — no manual work needed.

What does DHCP assign?
✔ IP Address
✔ Subnet Mask
✔ Default Gateway
✔ DNS Server

How does DHCP work (DORA)?
1️⃣ Discover – Device asks for IP
2️⃣ Offer – Server offers an IP
3️⃣ Request – Device selects the IP
4️⃣ Acknowledge – Server confirms lease

Why is DHCP important?
• Prevents IP conflicts
• Saves configuration time
