Keliko Traditional Cuisine Brings Back Childhood Memories

South Sudanese content creator Judith Kiden has shared her love for traditional Keliko cuisine after enjoying a hearty meal at Arua Park in Uganda.

According to Judith, she finished an entire ball of Ola Inya (cassava fufu/Asida bafura), served with Pondu (cassava leaves), Obangulu (minced white ants soup), and beans prepared with white ants.

She said the meal reminded her of the food she grew up eating and was exactly what she had been craving. Judith also joked that, despite the heavy meal, she “didn’t even feel sleepy” afterward.

Traditional Keliko dishes continue to connect people across South Sudan, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, preserving culture and cherished childhood memories.

Congratulations to the great people of Kembe Boma!

Today, 1st August 2026, the people of Kembe Boma, Lujule Payam, Morobo County, have peacefully and democratically elected Josten Benyi Bura as their new Boma Chief.

He succeeds Maika Wani Abujongo, who retired from the position. The declaration was made by County Paramount Chief Naphtali Yakani Silla in the presence of elders, women, youth, and community leaders.

May the people of Kembe Boma unite and support their new leader as they continue building peace, unity, and progress in their community. 💙
