Pope appeals for international aid for Ebola victims in DRC.

Pope Leo XIV has officially called for international action and urgent aid to help contain the devastating Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

During his weekly Sunday Angelus prayer in St. Peter's Square, the pontiff expressed deep sorrow over the rapidly expanding crisis.

He strongly urged that global intervention must actively involve local communities in prevention and containment strategies.

The Pope noted via his official X account that he holds the people of the DRC closely in his prayers as the epidemic continues to claim lives.

The virus has already claimed more than 2,500 lives out of thousands of confirmed cases.

Imagine walking out of a bank carrying millions of South Sudanese Pounds bundled into mountains of low-value notes.

That was the reality for one fed-up customer who dumped more than 4 million SSP onto a bank floor after being handed his entire withdrawal in 20-SSP notes.

The striking protest is a chaotic visual representation of the South Sudan's ongoing cash crisis and the scarcity of larger denominations.
