Comedians' President Mr. Yai officially joins SPLM, declares support for President Kiir

The President of South Sudan Comedians’ Union , Mr. Yai, has officially joined the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) and declared his support for President Salva Kiir Mayardit.

Mr. Yai announced his decision today, stating his commitment to rally behind the SPLM party and its leadership under President Kiir.

He said his move to join the ruling party is driven by his belief in the SPLM's vision for peace, unity, and development in South Sudan.

South Sudanese-born Australian lawyer Nyadol Nyuon has sparked a heated debate after declaring there is “No white culture” in Australia.

Speaking during an ABC National Forum about immigration and assimilation in Australia, Lawyer Nyadol William Nyuon Beny challenged the idea that migrants should be expected to assimilate into a single “white” or Anglo-Celtic culture in Australia.

She argued that Australia is made up of Multiculturalism not Monoculturalism and that race and culture are not interchangeable, pointing to Indigenous Australian cultures alongside the country’s migrant communities.

Her comments came during a discussion with former deputy prime minister John Anderson, who argued that Australia should maintain its Anglo-Celtic cultural heritage alongside multiculturalism.

Nyuon later defended her position, writing that “white is a colour, not a culture” and making the same distinction between race and culture when discussing black identity.

The comments have since prompted strong reactions online, with Australians debating what exactly constitutes Australian culture.

9 killed in Jebel Iraq attack, several others missing

At least 9 people have been confirmed dead following an attack by unidentified armed men on Tuesday midnight in Lokuju, Jebel Iraq of Central Equatoria.

Sources confirm that all nine victims hail from Northern Bahr el Ghazal State; 5 from Aweil South, 3 from Aweil East, and 1 from Aweil North.

Several other people are reported missing following the incident.

The government has not yet issued an official statement regarding the attack.

BREAKING: Majuetdit Mathot Vows to Bring Back Ajuan Square From Sudan 🇸🇩

Popular South Sudanese comedian, Majuetdit Mathot, founder of Majuetdit Comedy, has promised to bring back his childhood friend and fellow comedian Ajuan Ajuan aka Juan Square to South Sudan.

Majuetdit said he was heartbroken after seeing a video of Ajuan sitting on timber with drunkards in East Darfur, Sudan. He said seeing his current condition compared to before brought him to tears.

In his message, Majuetdit called Ajuan a legend who put smiles on many faces and urged him to be strong and avoid drugs. He also asked anyone in East Darfur who sees Ajuan to look after him and contact him as he is facilitating his return home.

Breaking News: Ajing Deng Ajing appears before court for the first time since arrest last year

Former Executive Director in Office of President Ajing Deng Ajing has been brought to the Supreme Court of South Sudan, accompanied by his legal team, as the Constitutional Panel resumes proceedings in his constitutional petition today, September 15, 2026.

Ajing Deng Ajing has been in detention since November 2025. His lawyers have previously called for expedited proceedings, citing concerns over his prolonged detention and delays in the case.

The hearing is scheduled for 11:00 a.m.
