South Sudan plans to introduce a new generation of passports in August 2027, extending the validity of regular passports from 5 years to 10 years, pending approval by Parliament and the Council of Ministers.

The redesigned passports will feature enhanced security features and showcase South Sudan's identity through images of its 10 states, three administrative regions, wildlife, forests, the River Nile, and other national landmarks. The holder's occupation will also be removed from the passport and stored digitally.

The country also plans to begin issuing the East African Community (EAC) passport, making travel within EAC member states easier and supporting regional integration.

What do you think about these proposed changes?

A person may be born without understanding the value of truth or the foundation of justice. Arguing with someone who has no conscience is often a losing battle. Ignorance is not just a lack of knowledge—it can become a disease of the heart, stripping away compassion and mercy.

A person without a conscience is like someone who feels no pain from their own actions and remains unmoved by the suffering of others. When humanity is lost, what remains is only a body without the spirit that gives it meaning.
