Breaking News: More than 70 Prisoners at Juba National to Sit National School Exams.

More than 70 inmates at Juba National Prison will sit national school exams after continuing lessons at the prison’s Legacy Primary and Secondary Schools.

Prison officials told Radio Mariya that 37 inmates are registered for the secondary school leaving exams and 41 for the primary leaving exams. Candidates are also being helped to obtain national identity cards, which are required to sit the tests.

The Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) is assisting with the ID process and has appealed for extra support to provide uniforms, textbooks, past papers and other learning materials. Authorities say the program aims to ensure inmates can continue their education and complete national examinations while serving their sentences.

Twic leaders Bona Panek and Angelo Ngot reconcile after years of differences

Twic County community leaders Gen. Bona Panek and Angelo Ngot Mayar have reconciled after years of differences, marking a significant step toward unity within the Twic community.

The reconciliation follows long-standing disagreements between the two leaders and their respective teams, including differences surrounding the 2024 Twic election in Juba.

The reconciliation was facilitated by elders Angelina Nyandeng Kerubino, Mawien Atem and Thuc Malueth Chol, who played a key role in bringing the two sides together for dialogue and reconciliation.

Twic community leaders have expressed gratitude to the three mediators for their timely intervention, wisdom and commitment to peace, saying their efforts helped resolve the differences and restore unity and cohesion within the community.

The leaders community said the reconciliation should serve as a foundation for continued collaboration, dialogue and lasting peace among the people of Twic.

TWIC YOUTH REJECT ABYEI BOUNDARY EXTENSION

The Twic Mayardit Youth Association for Development (TMYAD) has strongly rejected claims that Geographical Constituencies No. 1 and 2 in Twic County will vote under the Abyei Special Administrative Area in the December 2026 elections.

The youth condemned the move as an attempt to extend Abyei’s boundaries into Twic territory and demanded that the 1956 boundary along the Kiir River be respected.

TMYAD also called for the rejection of the disputed “Abyei Box” map, compliance with the 2024 Presidential Order suspending its use, and the withdrawal of Abyei forces north of the Kiir River.

🚨 JUSTIN: Newborn Found Dead in Wedweil Refugee Camp

Authorities have confirmed that a newborn baby was found dead in the Wedweil Refugee Settlement.

Security personnel told Aweil News Agency on Thursday morning that the infant was discovered abandoned in Suk Silik by an unidentified mother.

The circumstances surrounding the death remain unclear. Authorities have said investigations are underway to establish the facts of the incident.

This comes after a similar case was reported in May 2026, when a child was found abandoned in Maker area of Wedweil.

Police say more details will be provided as investigations continue.
