Parliament Summons Warrap Governor Over Increased Insecurity

The Transitional National Legislative Assembly has summoned the Governor of Warrap State, Bol Wek Agoth, along with the Ministers of Interior and Defense, to respond to concerns over escalating insecurity and communal violence in the Tonj counties.

The decision was reached during Parliament’s sitting number 11, chaired by the First Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Amrose Lomin Pitia, following an urgent motion presented by Hon. Kornelio Mawien on the worsening security situation in Tonj, Warrap State.

Regional News.

As per Anadolu Agency, Egypt has renewed calls for talks on Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), stressing that a legally binding agreement is necessary. Egypt has also added that it will not allow Ethiopia to build another dam on the Nile.

Ethiopia, in response, dismissed the necessity of any agreement on the GERD, explaining that it will never intend to use the dam as a weapon against downstream states such as Sudan and Egypt.

This exchange of words comes as Ethiopia complains of it's sovereignty being under threat from Sudan, Eritrea and the TPLF rebels.

Iranian embassy in Kenya has posted this video, claiming that "The USA is struck in a strategic paralysis".

In the post, the embassy's online page cited that recent Iranian strikes against US' middle East military infrastructure had cut deeply, using that statement as a reason for using the words "strategic paralysis".
