Tiger Division officer sentenced to 6 months imprisonment over witchcraft allegations

Lt. Col. Kiir Diing Wol, Commander of the Special Forces of the Republican Guard, Tiger Division, has reportedly been sentenced to six months in prison over allegations of witchcraft activities involving the First Family.

Bank of South Sudan bans forex from illegal dealings

The Bank of South Sudan (BoSS) has directed telecommunications companies, electricity and petroleum firms, banks and other financial institutions to stop conducting foreign exchange transactions with unauthorized persons or entities.

The directive, issued on September 18, 2026, requires regulated entities to verify the licenses of forex counterparties, maintain complete transaction records and report their foreign exchange dealings over the past 12 months.

The Bank warned that non-compliance could result in monetary penalties, restrictions on access to foreign exchange facilities, criminal prosecution and other sanctions.

The directive took effect immediately and remains in force until amended, replaced or withdrawn by the Bank.
