𝐉𝐔𝐁𝐀, 𝐌𝐀𝐘 𝟏𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 — His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit returned to Juba on Wednesday morning following official visits to Djibouti and Uganda, where he attended the inauguration ceremonies of President Ismail Omar Guelleh and President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. During the visits, President Kiir also held bilateral talks focused on regional cooperation, peace, and stability.

At Juba International Airport, the President was warmly received by senior government officials, SPLM leaders, and supporters who welcomed him with traditional dances and chants of support ahead of the December 2026 elections.

𝐉𝐔𝐁𝐀, 𝐌𝐀𝐘 𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 — His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit left Juba this morning for Djibouti to participate in the inauguration ceremony of H.E. Ismal Omar Guelleh, President of the Republic of Djibouti.

While in Djibouti, the two leaders are expected to hold bilateral talks with to bolster the relations between their two countries, with emphasis on both economic cooperation and cooperation regionally.

It's worth noting that Sudan and Djibouti share the same vision for peace, stability, and economic growth in the Horn of Africa.

With Djibouti holding strategic geoeconomic position as the doorway of the international community, there are tremendous potential that would translate into an enhanced opportunity for South Sudan especially to gain an improved access of seaports and facilitated export of goods while boosting integration in the region.

Officials say President Kiir's presence at the ceremony cements South Sudan’s commitment to forging stronger partnership, regional cooperation, and promoting prosperity in the Horn of Africa.

WHO IS HON. PAUL DHEL GUM

Paul Dhel Gum is a South Sudanese politician from the Warrap State, Tonj North County. He held positions across multiple sectors in the state, including serving as minister of health, and minister of information and telecommunication. In the early months of 2017, Gum was appointed as the deputy chairperson of the South Sudan relief and rehabilitation commission.

Gum holds bachelor of law LLB from the University of Nairobi (2021)
Bachelor of Applied and Industrial Sciences from the University of Juba (2007)
Masters of laws (L.L.M) from University of Juba and currently pursuing Masters in oil and gas in Kampala institute of oil and gas.

Paul Dhel Gum has an impressive track record of public service, with significant roles and accomplishments in various government positions.

As a results-oriented individual, Paul firmly believes in the power of teamwork and is dedicated to accountable leadership. He is ready and committed to working with minimal supervision and is fluent in both written and spoken English and Arabic.
