Warrap State strongly condemns the brutal attack on Machar‑Pakuek cattle camp and Mading Juer Boma in Majak Payam, Tonj North County, on 27 August 2026 at about 5:00 a.m.

State figures put the toll at 49 dead and 33 wounded. Fatalities included 21 Nuer attackers, 15 Juer, 9 Lou‑dit, 2 Palipiny and 2 Apuk‑Padoc. The wounded include 22 Juer, 7 Lou‑dit, 3 Pan‑arik and 1 Apuk‑Padoc.

Authorities say the assault was carried out by a cross‑border criminal network: Nuer elements from Kuc‑Naam, Bul‑2 (Unity State) alongside Pan‑ariik sub‑clan fighters and groups from Ming, Reng, Aduet and Adok‑thok of Akop Payam, striking Majak and Alabek Payams simultaneously.

The state demands an immediate end to violence, a full impartial investigation, prosecution of perpetrators, strengthened security coordination with Unity State, and urgent humanitarian and medical assistance.
