*Formal Statement on the Withdrawal of Padang Youth from Upper Nile State Youth Convention*
To the Organizers of the Upper Nile State Youth Convention,
We, the Padang Youth, regret to inform you that we have withdrawn our participation from the Upper Nile State Youth Convention. This decision was not taken lightly, but due to circumstances that make it untenable for us to continue.
*Reasons for Withdrawal:*
1. *Mourning and Respect*: Baliet County is still reeling from the tragic Adong incident, which claimed 74 lives. Our youth are in mourning, and it's inappropriate to engage in celebratory activities.
2. *There's no formed or establishments of Electoral Committee*: The absence of a functional electoral committee raises concerns about the convention's legitimacy and fairness.
3. *Ministry's Lack of Cooperation*: The Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sports has failed to provide necessary support and cooperation, hindering the convention's success.
4. *Other Concerns*: Additional grievances, including inadequate representation, poor communication, and unresolved issues, have contributed to our decision.
*Our Expectations:*
We urge the organizers to address these concerns and prioritize the welfare of all youth in Upper Nile State. We hope that future events will be conducted with greater transparency, inclusivity, and respect for the people.
*Conclusion:*
We, the Padang Youth, remain committed to promoting peace, unity, and development in our community. We hope that our decision will spark necessary changes and encourage more responsible leadership.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Deng Maten Yak
Baliet County Youth Leader.
