Fruitful Meeting Between Lakes State Debate Academy and Director General in the Ministry of Education.

The Lakes State Debate Academy (LSDA) held a fruitful engagement meeting today with the Director General of the Ministry of Education, Lakes State, in his office in Rumbek.
The meeting aimed to present the vision and programs of LSDA and to seek partnership and support from the Ministry to expand debate and critical thinking in schools across the state.
Key Discussions
During the meeting, the LSDA team presented the Academy’s mission and vision to equip secondary school students and primary schools pupils with skills in debate, public speaking, research, and peaceful dialogue. The team highlighted ongoing programs including the Inter-class Debate competitions in schools, school club support and judging debates in all 8 counties of Lakes State.
The Director General commended LSDA for its role in promoting tolerance, academic excellence, and leadership among youth. He noted that debate is a powerful tool for peacebuilding and for preparing students for national and regional competitions.
Pledge of Support
In a major boost for the Academy, the Director General pledged full support to the Lakes State Debate Academy.
He pledged that the Ministry of Education will:
1. Recognize LSDA as an official partner in co-curricular activities in all secondary schools and primary schools in Lakes State.
2. Support school debate clubs by encouraging debate patrons/matrons to allocate time and space for training.
3. Work with LSDA to integrate debate and civic education into school programs.
He stated,"Your work is building the future leaders of Lakes State and South Sudan. The Ministry stands with you and we are ready to support you," the Director General.
