​ Four people were tragically killed on Thursday evening after being struck by lightning while seeking shelter from a sudden rainstorm under a Neem tree in the Maborngap residential area.

​ According to an eyewitness, the victims
who hailed from different families and locations had gathered beneath the same tree as the rainfall intensified.

A violent lightning bolt struck the tree directly, killing all four individuals instantly.
​ Local authorities have not yet released the identities of the deceased.
