PRESIDENT KIIR MADE 1st. APPEARANCE AFTER DEATH RUMORS & MEET WITH LAKES STATE GOVERNOR

H.E President Salva kiir made his first appearance today on Thursday after rumors circulated on social medias that the president had passed away due to unknown health conditions.
The President is seen healthy and well during his first appearance met privately with the governor of Lakes state Hon. Rin Tueny. The president has commended the people of Lakes State for upholding peace and stability in their state.
This came when he received a detailed report from Governor Rin Tueny Mabor on the state of affairs in Lakes State on Thursday.
Governor General Rin Tueny Mabor briefed the President that the overall security and social situation in the State remains calm. He emphasised that the State government is doing its best to ensure peace and stability is maintained throughout.
President Kiir commended the Governor and citizens of Lakes State for their dedicated commitment to peace over the past four years. He encouraged them to hold onto the peace and further develop this spirit of cooperation and harmony.
Earlier Yesterday 14/May/2025 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan categorically and strongly denies the false and malicious reports circulating on social media claiming that His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit has passed away.
The Ministry would like to assure the South Sudanese public, the region and the international community that H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit is alive, well and fully engaging in the service of the nation. He continues to carry out his presidential duties with vigor, commitment, sound health and complete fitness.
The Ministry condemns in the strongest terms this deliberate spread of misinformation aimed at creating unnecessary panic, confusion, and instability.
