Dear Hon. Adut Salva Kiir Mayardit,
I hope this message finds you in good health. I am writing to you with deep respect and sincere concern regarding the continued confinement of our brother and elder, Gen. Akol Koor Kuch, who has been under house arrest for almost a year and a half now.
It has been quite some time since his detention, and as patriotic citizens of this nation and the young people of Tonj, we are deeply worried about his deteriorating health and overall well-being.
Reports indicate that since his arrest, Gen. Akol Koor has not been receiving adequate medical attention despite his worsening condition.
Dear Honorable, as we speak, his health has become critical and requires urgent medical intervention.
In addition, Gen. Akol is the firstborn in his family and carries significant responsibilities at home. Therefore, his prolonged absence has left his family and children in distress—both emotionally and practically.
They continue to call for, and hope that he will be pardoned and reunited with them to enjoy the dividends of his freedom together as a family.
The Tonj youth and the entire community hold Gen. Kuch in high regard for his service, leadership, and contributions toward peace and unity in our country.
Nevertheless, we believe that his situation deserves compassion and humanitarian consideration.
Therefore, we respectfully appeal to your esteemed authority to kindly intervene and facilitate his release so that he may access proper medical care and reunite with his family.
Your understanding and consideration of this matter will not only bring relief to the young people and communities of South Sudan but will also reaffirm the government’s commitment to justice, humanity, and reconciliation.
We trust in your wisdom and fairness to give this appeal the serious attention it deserves.
Thank you for your time, empathy, and continued service to our people and nation.
Sincerely,
Deng Clinton
