President Salva Kiir yesterday received a bronze medal from the President of the South Sudan Basketball Federation, Luol Deng, presented on behalf of the national women’s basketball team following their historic debut at the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket.

South Sudan secured third place in the tournament, which took place in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, from 26 July to 3 August 2025.

The competition marked the 29th edition of the biennial championship organized by FIBA Africa, with Nigeria emerging as champions, Senegal finishing second, and South Sudan proudly claiming the third spot.

Apuk Youth Union Chairman Books Freedom Hall for Artist Malek Adut’s Song Launch

The Chairman of Apuk Youth Union, Agany Malleher Geng Ayiei, has officially booked Freedom Hall to demonstrate his commitment to supporting young talent, particularly rising artist Malek Adut, who recently dedicated a song appealing for kindhearted individuals to help him overcome hunger.

Chairman Malleher made the announcement today at South Sudan Hotel during the Second Reading of the Draft Constitution 2025, a document that remains open for amendment pending approval by the General Assembly of Apuk Youth Union.

In his remarks, Chairman Malleher reaffirmed the Union’s commitment to promoting youth empowerment through arts and culture. He revealed that Freedom Hall will host the launch of Malek Adut’s latest single titled “Aduongdie” on November 9, 2025.

“This is not only about music, but also about standing with our youth in times of need. Malek’s song carries a powerful message, and we want to give him the stage he deserves,” Chairman Malleher stated.

Kuac Ayok Community Daughters in Diaspora to Host Album Launch in Freedom Hall

The daughters of Kuac Ayok Community living in the diaspora, particularly in Australia, have pledged to host the much-anticipated Kuac Ayok Album Launch in Freedom Hall very soon.

Speaking during Mou MB’s Raan Kaac Ke Nhialic concert, Mrs. Achel Deng Cyer, one of the delegates who traveled from Australia to attend the event, revealed the exciting news. She explained that the initiative is being spearheaded by Mrs. Atiu Ayii Madut, together with other Kuac Ayok daughters abroad, who are committed to celebrating and supporting the talent of their own.

According to Mrs. Achel, the planned concert will highlight Mou MB’s new song titled “Kuac Ayok”, which has already received wide appreciation within the community. The daughters believe the album launch will not only promote local talent but also strengthen unity among Kuac Ayok sons and daughters worldwide.

That means there are only about 1 billion men available for marriage.
