I extend my warm greetings and sincere New Year wishes to all sons and daughters of the Awell Community, both within South Sudan and in the diaspora. As we begin this New Year, I take this opportunity to acknowledge and commend the Aweil Community as a resilient, peace-loving and a law-abiding community that has historically upheld values of unity, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence, not only within itself but also with neighboring communities of South Sudan. The Aweil Community has consistently demonstrated loyalty to the Government and commitment to the stability, unity and development of our country.

Notwithstanding these commendable attributes, I have noted with deep concern the recent rise in incidents of hate speech, insults, cyberbullying and other unethical conducts, particularly on social and online media platforms involving some members of our society especially the youth.
Such actions are regrettable and counterproductive as they undermine the long-standing reputation of the Aweil Community, damage the dignity of individuals, spread misinformation, incite unnecessary tensions and threaten peace, unity and social cohesion.

In view of these developments, and with particular reference to the sons and daughters of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, I hereby address the public in my capacity as the Chairman of the Federation of Aweil Community in Equatoria and as an elder of the Mading Aweil Community, to make the following appeal in the supreme interest of peace, unity and responsible community engagement:

Congratulations Gen. Charles Dut Akol on your appointment as Governor of NBGS. I wish the outgoing Governor Simon Ober Mawut-Jökuei good luck in his next endeavor. Thanks to H.E the President Salva Kiir Mayardit for effecting changes routinely. My Ministry and I shall work diligently to support the newly appointed Governor.

Gen. Charles Dut Akol is a very dedicated, steadfast and resilient personally and so, his appointment would be supported by all people of NBGS. I wish Gen. Charles all the best in his new position.

Dear family of Great Man, Engineer Chuor Deng Mareng,

I am saddened to learn the passing of an icon, Engineer Chuor Deng Mareng this evening, December 9th, 2025 while on my way from my Office at the NCA, Gumbo Shririkat and it was devastating. Losing such a great man at this crucial time, is not only agonizing, but also disheartening. The late Eng. Chuor Deng Mareng was one of the top civil servant, a trained soldier of liberation struggle, a professional engineer and a politician.

The immediate family of the late, the Pajou sub-clan, Ajuongthi are, Aweil East, NBGS, Bahr el Ghazal and entire South Sudan have lost irreplaceable personality. My family and I, are offering our sympathies for the family of the late hero Chuor Deng Mareng, particularly Hon. Mareng Chuor Deng Mareng and his family. May the soul of the fallen hero Chuordit rest in eternal peace.

The point of clarifications should cover the following areas;
1. Betrayal of Aweil sons/daughters in government;
2. Killings of Aweil sons/daughters in Juba;
3. Dividing Aweil Community;
4. Changing decrees to appoint someone who was not meant to be appointed; and
Any other business.

To my esteemed readership,

I am dedicating this quote to my beloved community and the honorable readership.

Before yesterday, Monday, November 10th, 2025, I was called by my community leadership in Juba to spare time to listen to them and I did. Although I had been receiving vicious coordinated vituperative statements, — from some of the younger men/women at the ages of my own children, I paused to reflect on their call.

One fastidious extemporaneous soldier had it all that, I must not be left alive. He gave me 5 years to live. Oh my small God. I must be obliterated, or relegated to nobody, some have concluded. Little do they know, citizenship by birth is never revoked. Kings and Queens were once challenged, but the citizen that commit the culpable offense by challenging the unchallenged privileged class, were confined after trail in a competent Court of law to spend time behind bars.

Seldom, if, ever did the citizen by birth is strip of his/her constitutional rights by anyone no matter how harsh their criticism to the most privileged is. Not even during the feudalism in medieval Europe. Nevertheless, I can understand how the beginning, impoverished and deprived of vitality societies struggles at their inception. The have and have not are not equals in humanity— at least in this mental impression of those who demean others. So, I am waiting to be told to leave Paliet Wek-Anyot as requested by someone from elsewhere.

Anyhow, I still gave my valuable time to my community. The community from where my 7th ancestors have lived, provided them with patriarchy spiritual leadership, before the arrival of conventional leadership. We met at Royal Palace Hotel from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
