Government Assigns Another Chinese Company to Construct the Rumbek–Wau Highway

Minister Peter Lam Both announced today, during a meeting with President Salva Kiir Mayardit, that the government has assigned an additional company to speed up the construction of the highway.

“The government has assigned an additional Chinese company, Jiangsu International, to handle the Rumbek–Wau section, reducing construction time on one of the country’s most critical transport corridors,” the statement reads.

Two Boys Arrested for Alleged Cattle Theft in Daraka Village, Nyibuoli Payam.

Two boys suspected of cattle theft were arrested yesterday evening in Nyamlel and are currently in police custody at the Nyamlel Police Headquarters.

According to the police, the suspects were found with two cows believed to have been stolen from Daraka Village in Nyibuoli Payam, Aweil West County, NBGs.

The police are now appealing to the public to help identify the rightful owner of the two cows shown in the photo below.

Abel Alier Kwai (born June 23, 1918) is a South Sudanese politician and judge who served as the First Vice President of Sudan between 1971 and 1982, and as President of the High Executive Council of the Southern Sudan Autonomous Region between 1972 and 1978.

Abel Alier was a politician who managed to complete his college education among many Southern Sudanese.

He is an internationally recognized and respected judge, human-rights lawyer and activist on behalf of Christians in Sudan.

Former Vice President of Sudan (1971–1982), he served as the First President of the High Executive Council of Southern Sudan.

He sits on the Permanent Court of International Arbitration in The Hague and is recognized as Sudan's most prominent Christian lawyer.

His latest book is Southern Sudan: Too Many Agreements Dishonoured.
