; Hon. Deng Garang Deng Declares Candidacy for National MP Constituency No. 4
Hon. Deng Garang Deng Majok, A member of the SPLM Liberation Council of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, has declared his intention to contest for the position of National Member of Parliament for Geographical Constituency No. 4, based in Abiem Centre, Aweil East County.
Speaking to the Media, Hon. Deng said he is seeking the support of the people of Aweil East, particularly residents of Abiem Centre, as he prepares to contest for the parliamentary seat.
Hon. Deng is an entrepreneur and business leader and serves as a member of the SPLM Liberation Council of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State. He is also an adviser to the leadership of the South Sudan National Chamber of Commerce.
Garang previously served as Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, a position through which he gained experience in business representation, entrepreneurship, and private-sector development.
According to Hon. Deng, holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Diploma in Accounting from Starford International University.
He further outlining his priorities, Hon. Deng said his campaign would focus on sustainable peace, unity, food security, agricultural development, and improved infrastructure.
" I intended to advocate for large-scale farming and greater investment in agriculture. He also highlighted the need for improved road connectivity between highland and lowland areas to facilitate the transportation of agricultural produce, strengthen access to markets, and improve the delivery of health services." He said
Hon. Deng is appealing to the people of Aweil East, particularly those in Abiem Centre, to support the SPLM and his candidacy, saying his objective is to contribute to sustainable development, peace, and unity among citizens.
Drawing on his background in business, community affairs, and political leadership, Hon. Deng said he seeks to contribute to effective representation of his constituency and to the broader development of South Sudan.
