Press release from Bahr El Ghazal Counties' Peace Tournament management

The BCPT Management Held a Consultative Meeting With Counties Presidents

The BCPT management, Led by Cde. Majok Ayar Chieny, President of BCPT convened a consultative meeting with the Counties Presidents at the South Sudan Hotel in Buluk to address the recent incident between Tonj North and Awerial County and to discuss the ongoing progress of the BCPT.

During the meeting, the Counties Presidents expressed their concerns regarding the incidents and emphasized the importance of continuing the BCP tournaments as a means of promoting peace and unity. They requested that the teams involved in the chaos face appropriate consequences.

Regarding the remaining 2 minutes of the interrupted match, BCPT management invoked Article 6 of the violations and penalties in accordance with SSFF, FIFA rules, and BCPT bylaws, which state that matches interrupted after the 80’ minutes are not to be resumed. With the match having been interrupted at the 88’ minutes, the management decided that Tonj North would be declared the loser and Awerial the winner.

Furthermore, both teams will face disciplinary actions within 24 hours due to their misconduct, including physical altercations and assault on the referees, and they will be held accountable for any damages resulting from the incident.

Additionally, the BCPT President assured that matches would resume shortly after receiving feedback from the South Sudan Football Federation management, as efforts are underway to ensure referees can continue officiating the remaining matches.

PhD Dhieu Mathok Diing, the recent Minister for Investment in the government of South Sudan, deserves to be acknowledged for the services he delivered during his time in office. Someone who has done a good job should be recognized to assure them that their contribution is appreciated.

Dr. Dhieu dedicated his time to teaching young people by documenting history and sharing diplomatic skills that will benefit the youth in the near future. He also worked hand in hand with President Salva Kiir Mayardit to ensure that the investment sector in South Sudan was improving.

I appreciate President Salva Kiir Mayardit for giving him the opportunity to serve the people of South Sudan in the area of investment. I also wish the President would give him another chance soon, as he is someone who can guide the youth on how to maintain peace and resolve problems without resorting to violence.

Personalities Behind the Peacebuilding in NBeGS/ Aweil

Joseph Aduong Lual
Joseph Aduong is a distinguished South Sudanes peacebuilder and Trainer of Trainers of the peace committees in NBeG and Warrap States

He's aslo a ToTs Team leader of PCVC , currently serving as Volunteer Trainer of Psychosocial Support for Community Volunteer Counselors in NBeGS and also a member of peace committee ( NBeGS PC) since 2016 to present .

He previously held a position of state director for administration in defunct Aweil East State and a founder of Press unit in the office of state Governor of defunct Aweil East State from 2016_ 2019 .

Aduong holds B.Sc degree in Leadership, Biblical Studies and Community Development Outreach, specialised in Community development from N2NCU_Texas USA 2024 .

He also holds Advanced Diploma in Theology from crossroads Training Center , specialized in Biblical Theology and pastoral Theology as trainer and planter of the churches 2019 Aweil South Sudan .

Holds Advanced certificate of training in Transformational leadership and Peacebuilding from NTLI __University of Juba, South Sudan 2019 .

Advanced Certificate in Agribusiness : from seed to market from University of the Fraser Valley__ Canada 2021.

Holds advanced certificate of training as certified Trainer on Trauma Healing and Psychosocial Support for the war affected communities in South Sudan 2021 , South Sudan/ Juba, the program designed , facilitated and taught by University of Juba and EMU University USA .

Holds advanced certificate of training as Certified Trainer of Trainers in Natural Resources Management , supported and trained by UNFAO Aweil South Sudan 2020 .

▪︎Trained the peace committees in NBeG and Warrap states from 2021----2022, to keep communities safe and help communities to live in peace and peaceful co-existence within and outside their communities.
Offering them the skills of peace building and conflict management, conflict resolution based on the matrix of early warning and early response.

▪︎ Served as youth peace Ambassador trained by UNMISS C.A. D in Aweil from 2014 to 2021.

▪︎Trained Community Volunteer Psychosocial Counselors in NBeGS Aweil under UNDP PaCC Project .
This program helped hundreds of thousands of the people get aware of trauma impacts in human beings and the process of healing.
Many community members healed and also reconciled during the trainings , awareness and stories sharing .

This program was designed to heal through reconciliation and reconcile by healing our wounds by accepting to forgive ourselves .

▪︎He Carried out Trauma awareness for the government leaders in NBeGS/ Aweil from 2022 to 2023 .
And many leaders understand their own problems derailed them of good performance in their leaderships .

▪︎Founded press unit in the office of the governor of defunct Aweil East state and helped in establishment of Secretariat General, council of ministers' administration in defunct state 2017 __2019 .
During his work as press unit founder he created good relationships between the government of the state and the people whom are governed .

▪︎Founder and Editor in chief of South Sudan News Corner SSNC _ Online daily newspaper, South Sudan .

▪︎Founder of Grassroots Initiative for Peace and Reconciliation Organization GIPRO .

▪︎Trained South Sudanese young women on the skills of negotiation and mediation in NBeGS/Aweil 2024 .

Served as consultant to CIPAD organisation on Trauma healing and Psychosocial support 2023 and 2024 .

A BUSINESSMAN, MAYUOT GUONG MUORDIT APPEALS TO THE PUBLIC AND WELL-WISHERS OR CONCERNED ORGANISATIONS FOR SUPPORT.

A businessman, Mayuot Guong Muordit has established a huge agricultural farm of OVER 100 Acres (100+ Feddan) in Mayen Juööth village under Alek North Payam (Mayom Totin) of Gogrial West county, Warrap state.

During an interview, Mayuot Guong revealed that he has started this initiative in hard and challenging times and Aguok Kuei TV quoted him saying, "I first started cultivating over fifty Acres in 2022 that was completely destroyed by flood, this year (2025) I sold all my livestock to establish over 100 acres (100+ feddan) of dura farm and I managed to cultivate, I'm appealing to well-wisher or whoever comes across this message to respond as soon as possible with his or her little support ."

Mayuot Guong stated that, for the past three weeks he had already started w**ding in the garden with his little resources and he ends up even without saving half of the feddan.

Speaking at the farm on Sunday 27th 2025, Samuel Yel Deng, Alek North's Payam Administrator confirms the vastness of the farm and w**d in the garden, even half of over 100 acres (feddan) is not w**ded.

𝐉𝐮𝐛𝐚, 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 – President Salva Kiir Mayardit this afternoon left Juba for a three-day working visit to United Arab Emirates.

Presidential Press Secretary Lily Adhieu Martin Manyiel says the visit is in line with ongoing efforts to consolidate relations with Emirati investors, who have an interest in investing in South Sudan's agricultural, mining and health sectors.

Lily emphasised that the visit builds on the previous engagements between President Kiir and UAE investors, and it aims to outline the next steps for advancing these partnerships and projects.

Soldier dies after jumping off moving car to retrieve wind-blown cash

A captain of the South Sudan People’s Defense Force (SSPDF) has succumbed to injuries after jumping off a moving military pickup Land Cruiser to retrieve some of his cash that had been blown away by the wind.

According to Lt. Colonel Philip Agany Thiep, the police investigator in Aweil West County of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, the deceased captain, Atem Akok, aged 53, was a division 5 officer based in Wau. He was on his way home to Aweil West for leave on Monday when the incident occurred.

“After the Pantiit and Mourwel bridge, he pulled out the money from his pocket and started counting. There, the wind swept some of the money away, and he jumped while the car was moving. Immediately, he fell and injured his neck. He was taken to Nyamel Hospital, where he died due to internal bleeding,” Agany narrated.
The police stated that the organized forces are receiving their payments this week, but it is unclear whether the money the deceased was counting was part of his salary.

He was counting 18,000 SSP in a moving military Land Cruiser when the wind blew some of the cash away and without informing the driver, he decided to jump out of the vehicle to retrieve the money.

A 25-year-old vehicle driver, identified as Elija Machol, is currently detained at Aweil West Police Station, awaiting investigation after the officer died in his vehicle.

Governor Marial urges Luacjang Community to pursue peace for lasting security in Warrap State

On Sunday, Governor Francis Marial of Warrap State attended a significant Luacjang community meeting in Juba, where a recent peace committee from Luacjang provided a comprehensive briefing to both government officials, intellectuals and local leaders.

The delegation shared the outcomes of the recent peace dialogue held in the area, highlighting key efforts to promote lasting peace, reconciliation, and enhanced security in Warrap State.

The committee members presented a document that outlined various initiatives aimed at rebuilding trust, resolving disputes, and creating a secure environment for all citizens.

Governor Marial acknowledged the critical role that community-driven peace efforts play in the state's development and reiterated the government's commitment to supporting these initiatives.

He called on all stakeholders to work together, both in the state and at the national level, to ensure the success of the peace process and the long-term well-being of the people of Warrap State.
