Message of Appreciation and Guidance to BUSSSA Leadership and International Associations

I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the leadership of the Bugema University South Sudan and Sudan Students Association, under the stewardship of Chairperson Dingding Puoch, for your dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment to our community.
My gratitude also goes to all our international associations across
BU Kenya, BU Somalia, BU Burundi, BU South Africa, and BU Rwanda.
Together, we have fought a good fight. Securing 609 votes was not an easy task, and it reflects the strength, unity, and determination of our people across borders.
To all our MPs who made it to the Parliament, I urge you to remain vigilant. This is the season of amendments, and whatever decisions you make will either protect the next generation of international students or weaken their future. Lead with integrity, courage, and a clear understanding that your actions today shape the path for those who will come after us.
We acknowledge that leaders are chosen by God. However, the malpractices witnessed during the election have shaken the confidence of many students in the process. Even so, we remain committed to peace, unity, and progress.

Hard luck to Team Opande, and congratulations to Team Fessto for your victory.
To my brother, H.E. Fessto, the responsibility now rests on your shoulders. Your first duty is to unite the students. There is mistrust between some students and the administration, and from this moment forward, your leadership must rise above that gap. Do not depend solely on the administration your agenda has already been passed and is ready. Now is the time to build trust, restore confidence, and serve all students without fear or favor.

The long-awaited Bugema University elections have officially kicked off this morning.
A large number of students turned up at the polling stations as early as 6:00 a.m., eagerly anticipating the moment to cast their votes. The excitement and determination among the student body signal the importance of this exercise in campus leadership.
The elections were initially scheduled for April 8th but were later postponed following disruptions caused by the absence of nursing students, which led to chaos on the day. Students demanded accountability and inclusion of all stakeholders before the process could proceed.
In response, the new Electoral Commission has introduced strategic measures to address the issue.
Polling stations have now been set up in various locations where nursing students are currently undertaking their placements, ensuring that they are not left out of the electoral process.
However, concerns remain as to whether the weather might once again interfere with the smooth running of the elections.
